p Former Otamatea High School students Rebecca Robertson, Kate Hallissey, Rita Hames and Ben Morley were awarded their Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Awards at the Auckland Gold Award Ceremony held at Kristin School, Albany last Saturday. Receiving gold is the third and final level of the award and takes a minimum of one year to complete. Students must spend time on activities within the service, skills and physical activity categories along with an ‘adventurous journey’ and a ‘residential project’. There are currently more than 90 OHS students involved in the DoE scheme.
