p A new 340-acre scenic reserve wetland off Hoanga Road near Dargaville has been opened on land purchased by the Nature Heritage Fund and Northland Fish and Game Council, from local residents David and Gloria Underwood. Associate Minister of Conservation, Nicky Wagner, said “the wetlands are the lungs of the land. They are here to be appreciated and enjoyed by a range of people. Dargaville Museum recently unveiled a new brand as the ‘Kaipara Museum’ which has received mixed reviews in the community. Dargaville Museum Society president Don Elliott said the committee had a discussion regarding the museum brand two weeks prior to the visit of television show Heritage Rescue. “We are still trading as Dargaville Museum and still will be for a while.
