p Harding Park’s mountain bike tracks have been a success since their inception. Now, the Dargaville sporting location has hosted its first formally-timed competition. A friendly contest, which was nevertheless hotly contested, the Kaipara Cycling MTB Champs saw mountain bikers pit their skills against the downhill course for the title of ‘king and queen of the mountain’. With on-the-spot results in, Dani Lowe was crowned Queen of the Hill while Kasey Wynyard took up the sceptre as King of the Hill. With times of on, or under, one minute to descend even the most challenging tracks, you could try and match this royal effort yourself; all you’ll need is a bike and a pinch of courage.
