We are excited to introduce CTK’s new wrestling program! It focuses on folkstyle wrestling, a strategic form in which players try to pin their opponent and maneuver them onto their back. Starting off, we already have 10 athletes on the roster, and immense interest growing around it that will expand the program. We are so excited to see what our athletes will do!

INDOOR TRACK

2 INDOOR TRACK

We are starting this Indoor Track season off with new coaches, Coach Cerdieras and Coach Roche. As the season gets underway, there are some amazing athletes to keep an eye on! First up is High Point commit Blake Nicholson, who had an incredible cross-country season, finishing first at state in 2023 and third in 2024. He’s definitely someone to watch this season. Then we have Sophomore Gabbie Feaster,

who last year took fourth in the 500m and helped her team earn third in the 4x400m relay at state. Lastly we have sophomore Shea Roche. She finished fourth at state in cross-country the last 2 years and came in second in the indoor 1000m and 4x800m relay last year, plus third in the 4x400m relay. With all this talent, it’s going to be an exciting season ahead!

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

The women's basketball team ended last season with a positive record of 16 wins and 11 losses. They finished 3rd in the conference with a 9 and 6 record. Unfortunately, they lost in the conference tournament's semifinals to Lincoln Charter. Heading into the state playoffs, they won the first round against Carver, but their season came to a close losing to Hiwassee Dam in the second round. Jen Gorman, the new head coach, will take over our women’s team this season and we can’t wait to see how amazing these girls do this year! We are starting strong and have a 3-1 record so far, and we're so excited to see how the season progresses!

DOOR DECORATING

DOOR DECORATING

Every year, each advisory decorates their door to celebrate the arrival of Christmas. This is one of CTK’s celebrated annual traditions - the Christmas door decorating contest! Each door is judged by teachers and staff members without their own advisories, and the winners receive points to contribute to their household. Winning designs are celebrated for different categories, such as humor or creativity! Here are some of the works in progress:

CHRISTMAS SPIRIT WEEK

CHRISTMAS SPIRIT WEEK

At Christ the King, Christmas Spirit Week is a fun tradition that takes place during the last week of school before midterms. Students and staff dress up in festive themes and most advisories have parties to enjoy a sense of holiday cheer. It's a time for everyone to come together and celebrate the season, spread kindness, and create lasting memories before the stress of exams begins. This year the themed days were, ugly Christmas sweaters on tuesday, Christmas character day on wednesday, and Christmas pj pants on friday. Whether it's dressing for the theme or decorating your advisor's door for the door decoration competition, Spirit Week brings joy and excitement to the school community.
