Greetings! Welcome back for this month's edition of the Nevada State DACA & Undocu Support Newsletter! Since the election of President Biden, we have seen many proposals that will positively affect the immigrant community. In this newsletter, you will find some information on said proposals, resources, and general reminders. Please remember that we are here to help and support you in any way we can. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out. Best, TheDream.US Team & The NSC Dreamers Club

DACA/Immigration Updates New President, New Beginnings

Less than 24 hours into newly elected President Joe Biden's term, we witnessed the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) release policy memos announcing a 100-day deportation moratorium and the suspension of new enrollments into the Migrant Protection Protocols Program, also known as the “Remain in Mexico” policy. This was coupled with Executive Orders that provided the following: Rescission of the Muslim and African travel bans Rescission of the Trump interior immigration enforcement executive order Restoration of an accurate census count that includes noncitizens Affirmation and fortification of DACA protections Reinstallation of Liberian Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) Cessation of border wall construction

DACA is Back! According to the Department of Homeland Security, first-time DACA applications are currently being approved! As of December 2020, DACA is back to its original form. This means: If you have never had DACA and are eligible, you can apply for the first time. Advance Parole is back in its original form Anyone who received a 1-year renewal of their DACA will automatically have their protections extended to two years Renewals continue to be accepted If you are unsure whether you are eligible for the program, visit United We Dream’s Trusted Help for First Time DACA Applications and Renewals. For more info, visit: FWD.US UnitedWeDream.org

TheDream.US Updates 2021-2022 National Scholarship Round OPEN The application for the 2021-22 National Scholarship is now open and will close on February 25, 2021. Please share this information! When applying, applicants will not be required to share their home address and or upload DACA or TPS documents.
