NEW CEU OPPORTUNITIES WITH RESNA

RESNA is pleased to announce we now have new continuing educationopportunities available for all ATPs and members. With the launch of“RESNA Learn,” we are now able to offer webinars on demand througha customer-friendly interface that is easier to navigate.

On RESNA Learn, you will find a variety of on-demand webinarsfrom our past two years of virtual conferences, along with ATJournal Quizzes. You can also self-track the continuing educationunits (CEU) you earn, whether from RESNA or other sources, for yourcertification. Most continuing education will offer IACET CEUs.

In addition to RESNA Learn, we also partner with quality continuingeducation providers who are approved to offer RESNA continuingeducation. These providers offer courses, many of which are onlineand on demand, on a variety of Assistive Technology (AT) topics.Visit the RESNA website under Certification/Continuing Education toaccess the list of providers. Remember, renewing ATPs can earn upto 10 continuing education hours that are not IACET CEUs.

Finally, as you know, NRRTS offers a robust continuing educationprogram, with high quality live and on-demand webinars. NRRTSis an accredited IACET CEU provider, and all the offerings areaccepted for RESNA ATP certification renewal.

Thank you to everyone who attended the RESNA Certification TownHall during the RESNA conference. It was a productive conversation,and we appreciate all the comments we’ve received regarding theupdated Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. The ProfessionalStandards Board is in the process of reviewing all the commentsand making further changes, as warranted, to the draft revisions. Weanticipate the RESNA Board of Directors to approve the final versionat a fall board meeting and announce the implementation date forthe new Code and Standards.

RESNA Position Papers summarize current research and best practiceon a variety of AT devices. Check out position papers on dynamicseating, seat elevation and ultralight manual wheelchairs. Theseare very useful for those letters of medical necessity! Look under“Resources” on the RESNA website.

Do your part to ensure your recertification paperworkis complete! Send your paperwork to RESNA atleast three to five weeks prior to your certificationexpiration date. We strongly recommend you scanand email your paperwork (including all your CEUcertificates) to certification@resna.org.

We offer a free webinar, “The Ins and Outs of ATPRecertification” in the new RESNA Learn. Just use thesearch box to find it. It has tips and advice on how tomake the process easy and efficient.
