Kosta Boda Collection
The ambition of Kosta Boda Collection is to capture the spirit of the times in the form of commercial lifestyle products. The range consists of well-designed and functional interior items. Complementary materials can be used, but always with the glass in focus. We find inspiration in the collective history of the glassworks and designers like Signe Persson-Melin and Erik Höglund, complemented by present-day influences. The collections encompass fashion, music and art, and aim to beautify and enhance modern everyday life – whether it concerns dining-table accessories, interior design or celebration.

Bod is a playful tribute to the possibilities of glass craftsmanship. Two individually familiar forms, fused into a single object with a new, wholly unique expression. These asymmetrical, stemmed bottles are also a nod to Kosta Boda’s long-standing production of wine glasses.
Bod’s inspiring design triggers creativity in terms of both content and placement. Its confident shape makes it a natural fit in your home irrespective of room and does an impressive job presenting flowers as well as other decorative elements from the woods, beach or nature including beverages and fluids such as oils and vinegars.
The series consists of decorative bottles in different colors and sizes. It’s created through a collaboration, a balancing act between the different working methods of two designers (who are also brothers). The result stands firm, right on the border between sculpture and utility object. Bod 230mm

The inspiration for this Kosta Boda series from 1986 stems from a trip to Mexico. “¡Ay, caramba!” is a bold statement that indicates admiration, surprise or anger. It’s a word associated with strong emotions, a strength reflected in Ulrika Hydman Vallien’s hand-painted black details in the mouth-blown glass.

In the series Contrast, this technique comes into its own, where the coloring’s path through the glass - using color powder and sticks - creates billowing veils, giving each object a unique pattern. Crackle by Åsa Jungnelius for Kosta Boda defies all preconceptions and makes a glassblower’s nightmare –cracked glass – its raison d’être. Here it’s used to give the object beauty and character.
The mold is dug out of clay by hand and the cracked surface is formed using an old traditional technique where the hot glass is dipped in ice cold water. The result is a series of mesmerizing objects whose expression changes depending on perspective and distance, reminiscent of sculptures made of colored or clear ice.
First introduced in 2020, and mouth-blown in Kosta, the Crackle series includes three vases and a bowl, in addition to the new mini vase and votive. Crackle Circular won the prestigious international ‘Best of the Best’ –Red Dot Design Award.

Erik Höglund
Fars Glas – Swedish for father’s glass – is today something of a cult classic. Small wonder, as its designer Erik Höglund is considered one of the industry greats of the last century. Starting his professional career at Boda glassworks in the early fifties, he was a key figure in ushering in a new era and form in Swedish design. Apart from Höglund’s expertise in glass, he was also active as a painter, sculptor, and graphic artist.
Fars Glas is a mouth-blown wine glass with simplistic lines and a markedly robust shape, and a cherished item in Kosta Boda’s product archive. At long last, it’s once again available for all in an exclusive collaboration with Hem.

Jomo is a collaboration between Kosta Boda and Swedish designer Nina Christensen. The series’ unexpected combination of shapes playfully breaks the rules of how glasses are supposed to look, creating a unique expression. The organic lines and the weight of the glass add to the experience.

Kappa is a series of vases in different sizes and executions by Mimmi Blomqvist for Kosta Boda. The series is mouth-blown into shape and is named after the bubble, or cap, that rises over the edge of the mold during manufacture. It is also this cap that has inspired the beautiful, billowing shape of the vases. The collection includes multiple styles, sizes and colors including a selection offered in circular glass produced from waste glass at Kosta Glassworks resulting in a unique coloration – shades from blue to green – for each object.
Kappa was launched in 2021 and is both a tribute to the artisanal history of glass and designed for a sustainable future.

Kappa is a series of vases in different sizes and executions by Mimmi Blomqvist for Kosta Boda. The series is mouth-blown into shape and is named after the bubble, or cap, that rises over the edge of the mold during manufacture. It is also this cap that has inspired the beautiful, billowing shape of the vases. The collection includes multiple styles, sizes and colors including a selection offered in circular glass produced from waste glass at Kosta Glassworks resulting in a unique coloration – shades from blue to green – for each object.
Kappa was launched in 2021 and is both a tribute to the artisanal history of glass and designed for a sustainable future.

Who says we need such a sharp division between celebration and everyday life? This series is born from the idea that every new day is worth celebrating. Line is mouth-blown at Kosta Glassworks and radiates the same elegance today as when the collection first saw the light of day in 1982. Then and now, the final touch – the iconic, spun glass thread that gave the series its name – is applied by hand, in proud Swedish craft tradition.
Line consists of a carafe and several different glasses: wine, tumbler, martini, gin tonic, cognac, champagne, beer and aquavit.

The lines are familiar, but together they form something unique - Moss. The soft paradox can be said to describe both the expression and the manufacturing process itself. The series is created from reused old molds from Kosta glassworks, which were carved out by hand to produce new shapes and create an undulating, irregular glass surface that is liquid, frozen and organic at the same time.
The product series contains a votive, vase, bowl, drinkingglasses and a carafe. All products are mouth-blown produced in Kosta and are available in circular and clear glass.

Ernst Billgren New Friends
In his creative output, renowned Swedish artist Ernst Billgren has a habit of moving between artistic expressions, not seldom executed with themes close to nature and a light-hearted touch. The New Friends series, launched in 2008, is an excellent example.
The animal motifs become one with the glass in a clever, playful and decorative way. One animal for each piece, masterfully made by the Kosta Glassworks’ craftsmen. Resting carefree at the bottom of the glass – happy to share this drink with you. After all, meeting someone over a drink is a great way to make new friends.

Orion is a series of votives by Kosta Boda, created by designer Clara von Zweigberg. The design is an interplay of proportions and shapes, using lines and colors to highlight the ever-fascinating nature of glass. When Picnic was launched in 1967, the underlying idea was to challenge the bourgeoisie’s fixation on excessively large stemware sets. Why have so many pieces, when you can drink straight from the bottle or from simple glasses? Thus a classic was born, with a timeless, mouth-blown simplicity and splendor that works just as well today.
Stout but hollow stems allow the glasses to be filled right down to the base, accentuating the drink’s color in a decorative way. Another lovely detail is the playful dynamic between glassware and carafe.

Nature, light and ice – it was out of love for these great entities that Polar was born almost 50 years ago. This timeless series consists of a number of glass sculptures reminiscent of rippling water frozen in time. Each sculpture also doubles as a votive, where the clear glass refracts and diffuses the light to set the mood.
Polar from Kosta Boda invites you to combine and group different sizes, although each makes a beautiful design object on its own. Or as a unique gift, e.g. from Sweden to the Sydney Opera House (true story).

Hanna Hansdotter Rocky Baroque
A rebellious take with ancient roots, the Rocky Baroque series from Kosta Boda is a playful remix of the classical column. Monumental contours meet raw, jagged surfaces in this series of candlesticks and vases. Pop colors mix with unyielding shapes, and the collection resides in the borderlands between sculpture and utility object, a recurring theme in Hanna Hansdotter’s design. Humor and irony are other tools used to interpret and challenge authoritarian principles. The result is its own genre – Rocky Baroque.
Hanna Hansdotter describes herself as being drawn to the crossroads between the harsh and the decorative. When that spirit is captured as perfectly as with Rocky Baroque, who are we to argue?

Hanna Hansdotter Rocky Baroque
A rebellious take with ancient roots, the Rocky Baroque series by Hanna Hansdotter and Kosta Boda is a playful remix of the classical column. Monumental contours clash with raw, jagged surfaces in this series of candlesticks and vases. Vibrant colors mix with unyielding shapes, and the product resides in the borderlands between sculpture and utility object, a recurring theme in Hanna Hansdotter’s design. Humor and irony are other tools used to interpret and challenge authoritarian principles. The result is its own genre – Rocky Baroque.
Following the initial launch of the candlestick category and the bigger 350mm vase, the series has now been extended to include an smaller vase measuring 250mm but just as exceptional.

In an effort to make past masterpieces available to new audiences, Kosta Boda is excited to reissue select products from its comprehensive archive. Sunflower, a classic series of votives first introduced in 1974, bears all the hallmarks of Wärff’s artistry and Kosta Boda’s design DNA.
Natural light as well as organic shapes as they appear in nature were two major sources of inspiration for Göran Wärff (1933–2022), and both come to the fore in Sunflower. Here is an opportunity for a new generation of Kosta Boda consumers to find this epic design outside of a vintage design store.

The reissued series includes votives in three different heights, one edition in clear glass and one in circular glass. The latter uses repurposed waste glass from the hot shop in Kosta. This waste glass is upcycled and re-used in circular production of new items providing each product with a unique color tone and look. Sunflower is made in a two-step cast production technique relying on gravity, skill and experience to combine flower and stem.
