編輯室的話
歲末回顧，珍惜 2023 年的寧和，迎接來年的新希望。臺中國家歌劇院的「2024 NTT Arts NOVA」，鏈結科技與藝術的 新視界，將帶來跨越過去、現在與未來的藝術盛宴。
日本新音樂教父坂本龍一生前與視覺藝術家高谷史郎合作的《TIME》，擷取老莊哲思，化為一齣融合聲音、音樂、表演、 裝置和視覺獨特藝術體驗的夢幻能劇，從人與自然的神話，映照生命的虛幻與真實；育兒、打球、大量閱讀，以及長期 關注移工族群的多元文化，都是編舞家陳武康從生活提煉靈感的方式，豐沛其創作的能量；位於臺中黎明新村的「回甘 Aftertaste」，以書香、咖啡香、爵士樂音，召喚人們親近臺灣的人文風華，從而發現，不一樣的世界風景就在眼前。
2023 年進入倒數時刻，不妨沉澱身心再出發。聆賞表演藝術創作者對生命的洞察，透過科技聲光 reconnect 人性最真實 的情感渴望，為心靈儲藏通透而豐厚的能量。

Reflecting on the passing year, we fondly embrace the gracefulness of 2023, anticipating the dawn of a new year brimming with hope. The "2024 NTT Arts NOVA" intertwines technology and contemporary artistic vision, offering a fusion of art that crosses past, present, and future realms.
In his lifetime, Ryuichi Sakamoto, the Japanese electronic music maestro, collaborated with visual artist Shiro Takatani to birth TIME This dreamlike noh production distills the philosophies of Lao Zi and Zhuang Zi, blending sounds, music, performing arts, installations, and unique visual experiences, traversing the spectrum from human existence to the mythologies of nature. It refracts back to the dualities of the imaginary and the real, encapsulating the essence of life.
Choreographer CHEN Wu-kang draws inspiration and enriches his creative prowess through diverse activities such as parenting, playing sports, extensive reading, and fostering an appreciation for the cultural diversity of different ethnic groups. Nestled in Taichung's Liming New Village, Aftertaste captivates visitors with the blend of the scent of books, the aroma of coffee, and the melodies of jazz music. This immersive experience invites individuals to bask in the unique cultural beauty of Taiwan and witness the unfolding of a new world.

以對技術劇場懷有熱忱之在學學生及演出團隊為招收對 象，提供瞭解劇場技術相關知識及增加實作機會，藉此培 養未來投入劇場幕後工作之相關能力，故規劃開設 2024 NTT 學苑初階技術劇場研習營，希望為中部地區培育更多 劇場技術工作者。
With its prospective participants as the students and performing groups passionate about theater technique, the 2024 NTT Academy: Basic Theater Technique Workshop will provide students with knowledge on technical theatre while implementing various backstage onsite practices. By doing so, the workshop aims to equip the trainee with solid abilities to work behind the scenes and cultivate more theatre professionals in central Taiwan.

Symphonic Concert: Music from the Films of Hayao Miyazaki
宮崎駿的動畫一直伴隨著大家成長，在精采動畫背後，一 首首時而浪漫、時而溫馨、時而詼諧、時而壯闊的配樂， 賦予動畫更多色彩與風味。而這些扣人心弦的樂音，即是 出自於知名配樂大師久石讓之手。這場音樂會，「狂美」 從日本原裝進口精選的編曲版本，渴望精采呈現宮崎駿與 久石讓歷年合作的經典動畫，並由電影明星楊小黎導聆本 場節目。在優美樂音中，重溫初次接觸宮崎駿動畫時的興 奮與感動。
Hayao Miyazaki's animations have always been with everyone's growth. Behind the wonderful animations, there are some songs that are sometimes romantic, ometimes warm, sometimes humorous, and sometimes magnificent soundtracks, which give the animation more color and flavor. For this concert, the Orchestra specially imported selected arrangements from Japan, eager to present the classic animation of Hayao Miyazaki and Joe Hisaishi's collaboration, and hosted by the movie star YANG Shiao-li. With beautiful music, I look forward to relive the excitement and touch of your first contact with Hayao Miyazaki animation.

「魅艷卡門＆美麗心世界」由舞蹈藝術家顏秀茹領軍雲堤 舞藝學院，以其精湛舞藝，與知名聲樂家王喬怡、鄭海芸、 林健吉、李蘇及指導教授陳思照，一同詮釋精采動人的卡 門選曲。下半場由指揮家楊智欽，帶領國立臺灣交響樂團 演出德沃札克的第九號交響曲《新世界》。讓聽眾享受優 美旋律，以及深度情感和心靈交會的美麗新世界。
Carmen & The Beautiful New World is led by dance artist YEN Hsiu-ju at the Yunti Dance Academy, who, with her exquisite dance skills, interprets the captivating and moving selection from Carmen alongside renowned vocalists WANG Chiao-yi, CHENG Haiyun, Claude LIN, LI Su, and professor CHEN Szu-chao. In the second half, conductor YANG Chih-chin leads the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra in performing A. Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95 From the New World, allowing the audience to revel in the graceful melodies and the profound emotions and spiritual connection of the beautiful new world.

鋼琴家陳必先 1950 年生於臺灣，9 歲時獲准為第一位以音 樂資賦優異兒童身分出國深造。隔年進入德國國立科隆音 樂學院，受教於史密特努豪斯。之後她陸續接受雷格拉夫、 肯普夫、尼可萊耶娃、阿勞以及安達等著名鋼琴家之指 導。1972 年 6 月參加比利時布魯塞爾伊莉莎白大賽得獎， 同年 9 月獲得 ARD 國際大賽首獎，1977 年在鹿特丹國際 荀貝格大賽獲得首獎，1980 年在華盛頓國際巴赫大賽獲得 首獎。1983 年起陳必先應邀擔任科隆音樂學院鋼琴教授， 2004 年起於弗萊堡音樂大學任教，目前定居德國。此次回 臺的獨奏會曲目，陳必先將首度聚焦於舒曼的作品，並且 帶來她拿手的荀貝格經典之作。
CHEN Pi-hsien was born in Taiwan in 1950 and came to Cologne when she was 9 years old. One year later, she was admitted in the class of Prof. Hans-Otto Schmidt-Neuhaus. She persued her studies with Hans Leygraf and took part in piano courses by Wilhelm Kempff, Tatjana Nikolajewa, Claudio Arrau and Geza Anda. At the age of 21, she won the first prize at the ARD-InternationalPiano-Competition in Munich, later on the first prizes at the A.Schönberg-Competition in Rotterdam and at the J.S.BachCompetition in Washington D.C. This year Pi-hsien focuses on R. Schumann's solo piano works, she will present Schumann and Scheonberg's pieces to Taiwan's audience.

Ray CHANG, Concertmaster of National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, is a well-known violinist. He has been active in Music Festivals and Concert Halls around the world. His solo, chamber music and orchestral performances have been highly praised and recognized. Ray CHANG and Korean pianist Jung-Eun KANG will perform together for the first time. The repertoire includes violin/ piano sonatas of Brahms, Beethoven and Fauré, and five lovely short pieces. The two musicians have solid performance skills, superb musical style interpretation and rich timbre/color changes, that will bring a unique and rich Sound from Seoul musical experience to Taiwanese listeners!

「角戲」象徵人生舞台；「未央」意味無止盡的可能與期 待。人生不同階段有如戲劇，每次扮演的角色迥異，不 論戲劇是否終止，角色仍然在人生中不自覺、且盡力地 演繹著，不曾散場。本劇以中國作家莫言小說《紅高粱》 作為主題，講述高密東北鄉一位内心堅韌充滿生命力的 女人「九兒」，且勇敢追求自由與愛。全劇分為 4 幕，「火 紅」、「炙黃」、「血紅」、「悼白」。運用肢體語彙 傳達九兒於抗日期間，轟轟烈烈、英勇悲壯的人生故事。
Life's various stages resemble a drama, with distinct roles played at each juncture. Regardless of whether the drama concludes, the roles continue to be portrayed with unwavering commitment in life's unconscious performance, never truly reaching a final curtain call. Taking the Chinese novelist MO Yan's novel Red Sorghum as its theme, portraying a resilient and vibrant woman, 'Jiu'er,' from the rural Northeastern town of Gaomi, who courageously pursues freedom and love. The play is divided into four acts, namely 'Fiery Red,' 'Blazing Yellow,' 'Crimson Blood,' and 'Mourning White,' employing physical expressions to convey Jiu'er's tumultuous, heroic, and poignant life story during the resistance period.

Singing Singers, a chorus with the idea of "singing for joy, love, and life", was founded in Taichung, Taiwan in September 2013. After winning the first prize at the Steinberg International Piano Competition in Madrid, Spain, and receiving the highest performance diploma Soloklasse from the Hannover Conservatory of Music in Germany, pianist CHEN Shih-wei returned to Taiwan and was invited to perform more than 30 concerto concerts with domestic and foreign symphony orchestras. This play lets our loved ones know us better. It brings us to find the essence of love in humorous and hilarious ways. The best actor in the Golden Bell Award, FAN Guang-yao, and the talented actress Jessie CHANG, sincerely invite the audience to join us together. After separating for a long time, Mr & Mrs CHOU were reunited. All of the ridiculous scenes were broadcasted through the live stream on social media by their daughter, and the spectacle turned into a hilarious comedy. 在還沒有電玩、網路、校園民歌也還未萌芽的年代，是莘莘 學子愛泡彈子房、開學生舞會、半夜 K 書的年代，也是從 廣播電台、黑膠唱片聆聽西洋流行歌曲的年代。當年陪伴 我們成長、陪伴我們度過那些有歡笑、有憂愁、有酸甜苦 辣日子的這些西洋流行歌曲、記錄了那些純真的年代、如 今已成了一首又一首的經典歌曲。鄉村之路演唱會將演唱 這些經典歌曲、和觀眾一起感受記憶中的時空、一起年輕。
In an era before video games, the internet, and campus folk songs had yet to bloom, it was a time when eager students loved spending time in pool halls, hosting school dances, and burning the midnight oil while studying. It was also an era when we listened to Western pop songs on the radio and vinyl records. During those years, these Western pop songs accompanied us through the ups and downs of life, capturing the essence of those innocent times. Today, they have become classic tunes one after another. e "Country Road Concert" will perform these classic songs, allowing the audience to reminisce about the past, recapture the essence of that time and feel young again.

本次獨奏會鋼琴家吳易穎將演出分別演出舒曼與布拉姆斯 各兩首鋼琴作品，用《永恆的摯愛》來作為音樂會主要標 題，並分別賦予「愛的獻禮」、「愛的執著」、「愛的崇 高」、「愛的枷鎖」4 個子題，用來代表舒曼與布拉姆斯 這兩位男士，展現出縈繞在克拉拉．舒曼身上 4 則愛的故 事，然而這些故事同時也代表著人類的愛情當中 4 個不同 的階段。鋼琴家吳易穎除了演奏之外，更將透過解說的方 式來告訴聽眾這段音樂史上最感人的音樂愛情故事，進而 更能理解深藏在音符背後的那般綿綿不絕的真摯情感。
In this solo recital, pianist WU Yi-ying will perform two piano pieces from both Schumann and Brahms. The concert is titled Eternal Beloved , with four sub-themes: "Offering of Love," "Persistence of Love," "Sublimity of Love," and "Chains of Love," each representing the stories of affection surrounding Clara Schumann as portrayed by these two gentlemen. Apart from his performances, pianist will use explanatory narration to convey to the audience this most touching musical love story in the history of music, facilitating a deeper comprehension of the continuous and heartfelt emotions hidden within the musical notes.

Blue Man Group's Bluevolution World Tour showcases classic Blue Man favorites along with brand new content, including a new character called "The Rockstar," who will replace the traditional band as a multi-instrumentalist. e clavichord's unique expressiveness has long been a vital creative tool for many performers and composers, including C.P.E. Bach, who had a lifelong affection for the instrument. The premiere of the "Il clavicordo cantabile" will take place at the Taichung Opera House. Renowned clavichordist Albert Mühlböck will perform on three types of clavichords: fretted, unfretted, and meantone splitkey. e concert will showcase ve classic compositions by C.P.E. Bach and two preludes and fugues from J.S. Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier. In addition, there will be performances of Renaissance chansons by Sandrin, Gabrieli, and de Rore. Contemporary compositions by American composer Alissia Duryee will also be featured, incorporating new tones and techniques to enrich the expressiveness of the clavichord.

Taiwanese flutist LIN Yi-hui warmly invites flutists CHEN Qiling and Matthew Wing-yin WU to perform in this joint recital. CHEN Qi-ling, who pursued studies in Switzerland, founded the Guangzhou International Flute Competition (formerly known as Nicolet International Flute Competition Guangzhou). On the other hand, Matthew WU, who studied in the United Kingdom, initiated the Hong Kong International Flute Competition. These three exceptional Chinese flutists have made significant contributions to their respective local music scenes. In this concert, various instrumental ensembles converge, melding the voices of camels, lions, and babies to create a unique auditory feast that transmits classical compositions. In 2024, eight new generations have joined this journey, with 20 performers spanning four generations collaboratively presenting the most exquisite melodies with vigor. The dialogues emanating from different generations undergo a metamorphosis, evolving into a musical landscape full of richness and vitality. Audiences are invited to immerse themselves in this multifaceted experience, offering a chance to view the world from various perspectives.

As the Year of the Dragon approaches, the Little Reading eater is thrilled to present a picture book exhibition, Mr. Long Comes to Read the Book of Long. is exhibition will feature a diverse array of works centered around the dragon theme, delving into its intriguing cultural signi cance. In addition to reading, we extend a warm welcome to guests of all ages to join in the festive parent-child activities, anticipating the arrival of the new year. e accomplished picture book illustrators, LIN Xiu-sui and LIAO Chien-hung, will narrate the story of the 12 Chinese Zodiac Signs and engage in a Chinese idioms matching game with the participants. Furthermore, through multimedia rubbings, they will collaborate with all the children to create a giant ying dragon, symbolizing a vibrant and prosperous start to the new year.

當數位科技成為日常，藝術如何介入？又該扮演什麼角色？旅歐藝術家羅晟文關注生活中非人類生物與社會、環境之間 的關係，並以錄像、攝影、裝置和遊戲等媒介進行創作。他擅以類比非人類生物處境的手法，提供觀眾身歷其境的觀賞 經驗，進而引發大眾對於環境議題的重視。本場講座，羅晟文將分享身為藝術創作者，如何透過科學與藝術之結合，回 應當代社會、生態與環境議題，並從作品出發，分享直接經驗的應用與沉浸式創作的意義。
As digital technologies increasingly shape our daily existence, the question arises: how does art intersect with this transformation, and what role can it play? Artist LO Sheng-wen, who spent significant time in Europe, focuses on nonhuman existence and its relationships with society and the environment. Employing video, photography, installation, and video games as his primary creative mediums, he skillfully juxtaposes nonhuman existential conditions, providing viewers with an immersive experience. Beyond the aesthetic, his work serves a dual purpose by drawing public attention to pressing environmental issues. In this speech, Lo, as a creator, will share his firsthand experiences in the creative process and delve into the significance of employing immersive artistic forms. He will elaborate on integrating technology with art to address contemporary social, ecological, and environmental concerns.

對一般人來說，走在路上與陌生人擦肩而過的動作再平常不過，然而，在編舞家眼中，也許這就是舞蹈的展現形式。
2024 NTT 充電夜－舞蹈 PLUS 工作坊邀請吳思瑋擔任講師，以舞蹈劇場為核心課程，透過現代舞訓練，學習身體各部位的使用 及呈現方式，進而強化動作穩定度及凸顯戲劇張力。除舞蹈技巧訓練外，課程將安排學員欣賞雲門舞集《毛月亮》演出， 透過工作坊課程及觀演討論，認識現代舞蹈語彙和編創技巧。
For many people, casually passing through strangers on the street is an everyday occurrence. However, to choreographers, it represents a potential dance movement. e NTT Power Night Dance PLUS Workshop, featuring WU Szu-wei as the instructor, focuses on dance theater and modern dance training. Participants are guided to understand the nuances of moving each part of their bodies and allocating speci c forms of presentation, thereby enhancing movement stability while emphasizing theatrical tension. In addition to dance technique training, the workshop also includes the tickets of Lunar Halo performed by Cloud Gate Dance eatre of Taiwan. rough workshops and after performance discussions, participants will delve into the language of modern dance and choreographic techniques.

當代舞蹈創作暨表演者陳逸恩，將以生命故事為主題，帶領學員回望生命歷程，發展屬於自己的舞蹈肢體。課程將透過觀 察與基礎舞蹈訓練，認識身體的獨特性，同時藉由舞作賞析，介紹舞蹈的種類與樣貌。在講師的引導下，學員們的人生故 事將串聯為舞作《不約而同》，並於小劇場展現工作坊成果，與親友分享自己生命中最私密、最重要的片段。
Contemporary choreographer and dancer CHEN Yi-en utilizes life stories as the thematic inspiration for inviting participants to re ect on their life journeys and cultivate their distinctive body languages. Participants develop a closer connection with their bodies through observations and foundational dance training. Concurrently, analyzing diverse dance pieces exposes participants to various genres and forms. 當代舞蹈創作暨表演者陳逸恩，將在輕鬆的氣氛下，透過著名舞作影片的介紹，以及親身帶領的肢體開發訓練，讓學員藉 由觀察與練習找尋及認識自己身體的獨特性，並且帶領學員以各自的生命經驗及故事，發展出屬於自己的肢體動作，完成 自己的獨舞片段。課程最後，將以影像拍攝，記錄學員共同發展出的舞蹈作品《我的一分鐘獨舞》，作為送給自己最棒的 禮物！
Contemporary choreographer and dancer CHEN Yi-en will present renowned dance videos and teach body development personally in a relaxing atmosphere, allowing participants to discover and comprehend the distinctiveness of their bodies through observation and hands-on practice. Participants will delve into their life narratives and personal stories to craft body movements and create solo dance segments. 一縷幽魂的嘆息
妻子漆黑的眼眸深處，鮮明地浮現著我的身影。她說：「請坐在我的墳前 100 年，我一定會來找你。」我回說：「一定會守候。」在她眼中，我的身 影宛如靜止的水盪漾開來，瓦解了，垂落到她的臉頰。她就死了。
不知己經看過多少紅色的太陽持續越過我的頭頂，直到眼前雪白的百合花散 發出徹骨的香氣，我才發覺：「原來 100 年已經到了……」

（Ryuichi Sakamoto, 1952-2023） 日本作曲家、鋼琴家、音樂製作人。
作品多元化的風格影響電音流派的發 展。著名的電影配樂作品包括《末代 皇帝》等，多次獲頒奧斯卡獎、葛萊 美獎等，被譽為日本新音樂教父。
高谷史郎（Shiro Takatani）
為日本前衛實驗團體蠢蛋一族
（Dumb Type）創作成員，後於歐 洲發展個人跨領域創作，在世界各地 的劇場、博物館、藝術中心展演。 與坂本龍一的合作始於 1999 年歌劇 《生命》。
這是 1908 年，日本大文豪夏目漱石寫下 《夢十夜》中〈第一夜〉的故事概要。《夢 十夜》內容詭異唯美，是夏目漱石最獨樹一 格，也最難理解的作品。他曾發下豪語：「深 具野心的我，要讓 100 年後的人來解開這個 謎。」
2021 年，日本新音樂教父坂本龍一，生前 與高谷史郎合作的最後一個劇場作品《Time》 （時間），便是將〈第一夜〉和另外兩個迷離 的夢記──莊周〈夢蝶〉和取材自《枕中記》 的能劇《邯鄲》，化為一齣融合聲音、音樂、 表演、裝置和視覺獨特藝術體驗的夢幻能 劇，一則關於人與自然的神話。
鋪滿水的舞台上，女人帶著笙在舞台上來 回穿梭，一如自然時序更迭……在月與月的 倒影之間，一名男子，想在水中創造一條筆 直的路，他的努力像那位被懲罰一再將滾落 的石頭搬上山頂的薛西弗斯一樣徒然……。
在飛濺的水花與泡沫之間，在暴雨與狂潮 之間，在夢與醒的反覆詰問之間，脆弱的人 類在「時間」中生滅，只有永恆不變的自然 之美兀自流倘……。
《TIME》用自然的恆久對照人間的無常， 以脆弱而優雅的美感，回應自然生滅的「世 界苦」，彷彿看到了日本「物哀」美學的展 現。一如平安時代的文學，在燦爛華美的浪 漫中，隱隱抹上一層殤逝落櫻、陰翳哀淒的 色調。

盹。他只睡了 5 分鐘，但在他的夢裡過了 50 年。哪邊才是現實……在蝴蝶夢裡，我們見 到了莊周。是蝴蝶夢見自己是莊周？還是莊 周夢見自己是蝴蝶？我們分辨不清。」
對坂本龍一而言，夢的世界百年一瞬， 「時間的架構不是線性的──所有的瞬間都 被折起交疊。」同樣的，現實的世界「並 不都是可以被連成直線的點，而是像夢一 樣。」他也曾在另一篇報導中表示，「人類 發明時間的概念或許只存在 1 萬年，對於更 早的智人來說並不存在。儘管人類是自然的 一部分，但時間的邏輯和概念讓我們脫離了 自然。因此人類被自己發明的時間觀念給困 住了。」
剎那即永恆的浪漫
「在夏目漱石的故事中，女人變成了花。 真的很美。」
坂本龍一在接受《紐約時報》的訪問時說 道，「在夢境裡，時間性被摧毀了。在《邯 鄲》裡，一個正在尋找覺悟的男人打了個
秋季淒涼更厭世，鈴蟲美聲難割捨。 ──《源氏物語》
為了仔細聆聽昆蟲的鳴唱，將牠們移到 庭院裡聆賞。這種對自然聲響的感應，被 人類學家克勞德・李維史陀（Claude LéviStrauss）認為是日本人獨有的美學。坂本龍 一也曾說過，「最好的裝置就是聆聽雨聲。」
住院時他會聽窗外的雨聲，沒有下雨的時候 也聽雨聲的影片一整晚。
2017 年，接受癌症治療的坂本龍一，在 孤寂的病房重新發現自然聲音的美感，發表 《Async》（異步）── 視覺藝術家高谷史 郎表示，「從一開始，龍一就說過：『我想 要創作一部作品，沒有開始或結束。』這也 是《異步》的主要概念，也是為何他如此著 迷於裝置藝術的原因，於是我們合力創作出 不少作品。」「《TIME》的結構由多個『時 間』和『夢境』故事相互交織，象徵著時間 並非恆定不變的概念，即是龍一延續《異 步》對時間的詮釋。」
自然永遠超越人類的想像
在《TIME》裡，藉由高谷史郎的裝置， 水池、月、水、雨、霧、浪，進一步將「時 間」概念透過視覺意象帶到「自然」的時間 尺度，以自然的生息循環對照 3 段夢境的人 間無常，彷彿神在人類面前放了一個巨大的 時間沙漏。
坂本龍一如此解釋：「宮田麻由美（女音 樂家）帶著笙代表著『自然』。田中泯（男 舞蹈家）則象徵『人類』。人想修建一條能 橫跨水面的道路到彼岸，但失敗了。人類總 是幻想可以操控自然，人定勝天，但自然永 遠超越人類的想像，隱含著對自然的敬畏和 敬佩。」
Samsara 這座星球的生命循環
對生命的詮釋，坂本龍一更有著佛教哲 學的豁達：「我們活著、死去，接著我們 的身體會成為來世的一部分。這叫 Samsara （輪迴）──這座星球上所有生物的生命循 環。」
2023 年初，坂本龍一的離世，讓全球樂 迷惋惜、哀歎。高谷史郎說：「龍一可能仍 在某處以分子或原子的形態存在，或可能成 為我們的一部分又離開。」他想繼續演出， 讓更多人有機會看到坂本龍一的重要作品： 「《TIME》如同他以往的作品，簡單的結 構裡，融入他許多層次的創作思維和熱情。
我會繼續深入探討、理解那些他深埋在作品 裡的一切。」
舞台上的女子帶著笙在舞台上來回穿梭，一如自然時序 更迭，以對照人間的無常。
