Getting Started Before anything else I am going to briefly talk about what a Fanpage is and why it is important to use the power of Fanpages to brand your business or promote affiliates. Basically, A Fanpage is a central hub that allows an individual or a business to interact with their audience/customers. Even celebrities are using the power of Fanpages to interact with their fans because it is much easier as opposed to having a normal website. Here are some successful Celebrity Fanpages which have over millions and millions of fans.

The beauty of Facebook is that you can build a Fanpage on almost anything! I am not going to bore you with a history of Fanpages and why you should be using them so I am going to dive straight into the first part of this guide. The first thing I am going to do is show you how to go about creating a Fanpage from scratch. In Fanpage Dollars 1 I created a Fanpage from scratch and I showed you how to get lots of members to it in a short space of time.

However, since then things have changed and there are lots of different ways of getting fans to your Fanpage in a short space of time.
Creating Your Fanpage In the first part of this guide I am going to show you how to create a Fanpage from scratch. So the first thing I am going to do is do a bit of research before creating the Fanpage. The best thing to do is firstly decide on the type of Fanpage you are going to create. For example, are you going to be creating a “viral” Fanpage or are you going to target a certain niche? Viral Fanpages are “funny” Fanpages that people can usually relate to. These Fanpages end up having a snowball effect and lots of people join these in huge numbers. Here are some examples of “viral” Fanpages that have thousands and thousands of members; in a short space of time.

Now before anything else the first thing you need to do is focus on everyday situations people can relate to. For example, here is a website that might give you a few ideas on what kind of quirky topics you can create your Fanpage on. http://www.ireallyhatethat.com/ This website is full of things people hate doing. So the first thing I am going to do is think of a topic for a Fanpage and the one I have come up with is this one.
“I hate it when people text you in middle of the night, waking you up”! Now I am sure a lot of people can relate to this. How many times have you received a text from someone in the middle of the night? If you are like me and you have your phone switched on to “vibrate” then it can be very annoying! Now the next thing to do now is now click the “Create Community Page”. If you are going to create a Fanpage and want it to go “viral” then the best thing to do is create it under the “community page” category. Once you have entered your Fanpage title the next thing to do is find a suitable picture. Make sure the picture is not offensive or you will get banned. Now the Fanpage I am going to create is going to be a fanpage for a certain niche. For the purposes of this report I am going to focus on a profitable niche that can be monetised with Clickbank/CPA Offers. An example of profitable niche for Fanpages is: -
Hairstyles Tattoos Weight Loss Celebrity/Entertainment Piercings Humour/Comedy
In the case of this guide I am going to create a Fanpage that focuses around the Celebrity/Entertainment niche. In Fanpage Dollars 1 I created a Tattoo page – I love Tattoos which resulted in over 10k fans in a short space of time. I sold that fanpage for $1000! So you know how profitable fanpages in these niches can be.

This is an example of a profitable niche which can go “viral” in a short space of time. The first thing I am going to do is head over to Google Keyword Tool and see what kind of searches there are for this particular celebrity. In this case I have decided to focus on a celebrity who recently appeared on the singing talent show The X Factor; representing the boyband One Direction.
As you can see there are lots of searches for this celebrity. The next thing I am going to do is grab a domain name for this celebrity. I happen to own ZaynMalik.com and ZaynMalik.co.uk This is excellent because the more searches for this the more traffic to my fanpage. So now what I am going to do is head over to Facebook and create the Fanpage. Here is the fanpage I have created so far for this celebrity.

We are going to monetise this Fanpage. As you can see as of now I have 29 users and no traffic. These fans were as a result of my invite to my Facebook friends. During the course of this guide you will see a dramatic increase in the number of fans for this Fanpage. I am going to show you my exact strategies I use to get lots of fans in a short space of time. The next thing I am going to do now is set up a Traffic hub for this Fanpage. A traffic hub is a one paged site where all the traffic from the search engines will be redirected to the Fanpage.

The traffic hub will be at ZaynMalik.co.uk (it is always good to snap up other extensions of the domain name). Setting up a traffic hub is pretty easy. The first thing we are going to do is find a good Wordpress theme we can use for our traffic hub. A good word press theme for the traffic hub is the simple YAST theme you can download from http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/yast-yet-another-standardtheme This is a simple, basic theme but it is easy to use. Or if you are looking for another alternative Wordpress theme with many options then simply head over to http://heatmaptheme.com/ and download the free version. Setting up a Wordpress blog is easy. I use Fantastico from my webhost to set up a wordpress blog.

As you can see we need to monetise this website with content and also include the Facebook Fanpage widget directly on the site. So the first thing I am going to do is add some content to the site and a Facebook Social plug in. The social plug in can be found here at http://developers.facebook.com/plugins/?footer=1

As you can see there are two options her to add a “Like” feature to our website. For the purposes of this report I am going to add the “Like Box” feature to my website.

As you can see once you click the “Liked” box option you will see several options where you can edit and customise the widget. Once you have customised this simply click “get code” until you see a screen that looks like this (see below).

Simply grab the Iframe code and paste it onto your Wordpress website where you post your content. Your site should then look something like this (see below).

As you can see the widget is nicely placed onto our blog/website. This means when people land on my website all they have to do is click on the liked button to become a fan of my Fanpage. The next thing I am going to do is place several Wordpress Plug ins onto our website for SEO purposes.

Plug ins needed for you Facebook Hubpage For your Facebook hubpage there are several plug ins I would download. Here are the plug ins I use. All In One Seo Pack I always download the All in One SEO Pack because it automatically optimises you blog for search engine optimisation. Installing and configuring this plug in is pretty easy.
Simply log in to your Wordpress dashboard and then click on Plug In > and “Add New”. Then simply upload your Plug in and Activate it.

The next thing to do is configure the Plug in. This is pretty straight forward and easy. Simply enable your plug in and then include the main keywords in your Home Title of your website and home description. Once you have done that click “Update Options”. The All In One SEO Pack is a must.

Exclude Pages The next plug in you should download is called Exclude Pages. This plug in simply adds a checkbox “include this page in menus”, uncheck this to exclude pages from the page navigation that users see on your site. You can download this by heading over to http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/exclude-pages/
Configuring Permalinks The next thing to do is configure your blog’s permalinks settings. This is important because each post you create on your website will be indexed easily by the search engines. Permalink settings allow you to define the link structure that Wordpress generates for each of your blog post. Currently you will notice that your blog post for your site looks something like this (see below).

We can see that the URL of this post is something like this. Domain.com/?p=1 This is pretty “ugly” and you can change this by clicking on the Permalink settings on your Wordpress dashboard.

Once you click this you will see a screen that looks like this.
Where it says “custom structure” simply enter /%postname%/
In future any blog post that you create it will be SEO friendly.

Another really useful plug in is SEO slug. You can download SEO slug by heading over to http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/seo-slugs/ This plug in creates Keyword rich blog posts for your website. This is an excellent plug in and one that I highly recommend.
Other useful plug ins you should consider for your hub page are the following. SEO Smart Links - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/seoautomatic-links/ Robots Meta - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/robots-meta/
Once you have configured your plug ins for your hub page website the next thing to do is start directing traffic to your Hub page so that you generate a lot of visitors to your Fanpage. In the next section I am going to focus on various traffic methods that you can use to direct traffic to your page, and get people “liking your Fanpage”.

Directing Traffic To Your Hubpage

Once you have created your hub page the next thing you need to do is direct traffic to your page. Now assuming that you have purchased a good keyword rich domain for your website you will find that once you start submitting your site to various directories and get lots of backlinks you will end up hitting the first page of Google in no time. Here are several traffic generation methods I use to get more people to my hub page.
My Google News service – “Keyword Hijack method” I have a website that can get you on Google news in just 5 minutes for any keyword. Having used various strategies for my Google News service I find that if you submit a simple, short 200 worded article and link it back to your hub page you will get lots of visitors in a short space of time to your Fanpage. I use a very clever technique when it comes to using Google News. I call this method the “Keyword Hijack method” and it simply involves making sure the title of your Google News article is generating a lot of searches on Google right now. For example, if we head over to Google Trends right now we can see the following phrases that are popular right now.

As you can see there are lots of “hot topics” and “hot searches” right now. Assuming we wrote an article and used on of the above keywords in our title then your site will generate a lot of traffic and in turn your Fanpage will have a lot of visitors. This “traffic hijack” method is excellent because it is powerful and I have used it several times to generate traffic to my site.
