MODERN PRODUCTION
The state-of-the-art PCB assembly at the NOVOMATIC Group headquarters in Gumpoldskirchen, Lower Austria, covers a total area of around 3,300 sqm and houses modern equipment for the planning, production, and programming, as well as the testing and repair of high-quality printed circuit boards, which fulfill around 90% of the demand of all international production sites of the NOVOMATIC Group.
The conscious management decision in 1994 not to outsource to the Far East but to opt instead for a local production laid the foundation for a centre of excellence which, based on continuously modernised technologies and highperformance machinery, continues to this day to guarantee premium quality for the very heart of our products in the sensitive gaming industry.
PREMIUM QUALITY
The exclusive use of high-quality raw materials from internationally recognised suppliers, as well as the seamless control and traceability of the production processes through our SAP S/4Hana enterprise management system, enables an efficient and transparent process flow management.
Careful incoming goods inspection, including visual inspection, part number comparison, SAP material number management and climate- and humidity-controlled storage form the basis for the premium quality of the products.
All circuit boards undergo a series of quality and functional tests, such as solder paste inspection (SPI), automatic optical inspection (AOI), in-circuit testing (ICT), boundary scan, flying probe testing, X-ray inspection, functional testing and final inspection.

COMPLETE SOLUTIONS
Our complete electronics solutions cover a wide range of production processes, from circuit board planning to final quality inspection. The creation and documentation of detailed technical assembly plans under the expert guidance of our development engineers enables us to develop customized precision solutions for each individual customer requirement.
Optimally planned circuit board design as well as the precise management of the manufacturing processes and the complex, multi-stage assembly processes based on the highest level of expertise ensure high-quality, precise end results that guar-antee long-term reliability and the success of the products on the market.

AUTOMATION
The use of both automated and manual methods in the circuit board assembly process enables us to meet every requirement. Our machinery includes three fully automated SMT assembly lines from Fuji, including solder paste printing, high-speed pickand-place assembly and reflow soldering ovens.
THT components for small series and complex hybrid projects are assembled manually or semi-automatically and fixed using nitrogen-flushed selective soldering or wave soldering ovens.
Careful and highly project-specific production and process planning for the application of modern technologies and manufacturing processes ensures maximum cost efficiency with the highest accuracy and reliability.

CONTROLLED QUALITY
An important part of the production cycle is a series of quality controls and inspections for ongoing quality assurance.
These include standardised testing procedures such as solder paste inspection prior to soldering, automatic optical inspection (AOI) to check assembly and soldering results, classic in-circuit testing (ICT) for component testing, X-ray sample checking, testing via integrated boundary scan, flying probe testing for SMT assembly and, finally, general functional testing and final inspection.
Boards tested:
2023: 770,000 units
2024: 830,000 units
2025: 700,000 units*

TRACEABILITY
The principle of traceability is applied throughout the entire value chain in process management: all components are stored in batches.
Each individual circuit board is marked with a laser-engraved data matrix code (unique ID) upon commencement of the production order.
This serial number is the key to all lifecycle data for the product. This allows for detailed error analyses and targeted batch investigations in the event of problems occurring in series production or during customer use.
