During this summer the Wild Boars, Voša, and the Serbian Baseball Federation organized three baseball

camps. All camps were organized at end of august, and Voša with help of Softball Federation of Vojvodina went to Zlatibor, one of the most famous Serbian mountain towns. In four days, coaches worked with more than 10 kids on the basic skills of catching, throwing, and hitting. Coaches Goran Stefanović and Dejan Vuletić worked with the kids. Players were able to use outdoor facilities most of the time, but they also took advantage of an indoor facility where they practiced a new version of baseball called Baseball 5. The coaches organized three Baseball 5 games, and players showed improvement in their game. Some players of Voša went to the Kladovo Camp, which was organized by the Serbian Baseball Federation from August 23rd to the 29th at the youth camp called Karataš, a nearby town of Kladovo.

A total 18 kids from Novi Sad, Belgrade, and Topla participated in the camp under coaches Nikola Vučević, Miodrag Popović, Milan Zonić, and Đorđe Ajduković, and were assisted by

national team players Marko Badovinac and Vladan Jovanović. In the seven-day camp, the kids had the opportunity to work on various skills. The morning practice was reserved for defensive skills, throwing, catching, and fielding. After lunch, and a few hours break, players worked on offensive skills, baserunning, and hitting during the afternoon sessions. In the evening, players had the opportunity to watch Live MLB games, and also played some games, like a memory game, pantomime, and even a karaoke night on the last evening. Over the seven days, the kids participated in 10 practices. On the last day before the trip back to home, the coaches divided players into two teams for a game. After the game, all kids gave their impressions of the camp. On the way back home, there were few stops on the beautiful Danube canyon.

In addition, Each year, the kids from Wild Boars Kragujevac go to a very nice facility in the small town Mrčajevci. This year coaches Thorvalda Allestad and Nemanja Palić were working with kids three times a day. One practice was for conditioning and two for baseball. In the three-day camp, the kids worked very hard, but the peak of the camp was the parents against kids game followed by a BBQ. So, after a “boring” summer because COVID-19 situation, after all, kids had the opportunity to practice, play, and hang out with their baseball friends. We just hope a summer like this will never happen again, so we can play and participate in international tournaments in Serbia and also in other countries.
