Taken names has the great combonation of moderation, muscle and correctness on his feet and legs that we were looking for. He has unreal shape working down his top and big square chest and he leaves you with a massive hip. Taken Names has great curvature to the center part of his body. A GREAT ONE??……….Yes!!!! Not because he cost $50,000, but because he is incredible no matter what color or what ear set. Not only is he our next step for ourdominating Transformer line but maybe the next step for the spotted breed!! When Mark Hurd drove this guy inthe ring we knew he was the one. After the show when talking to Mark, he had somuch confidence in him and then finding out his mother is his best spotted sow…..he was getting loaded on our trailer. Mark has an incredible Spotted program and when he drives one, it’s a good one!! Of any boar that we have ever bought, we have never had this much interest after the auctioneer said sold, Texts and calls were coming in like crazy from the best breeders in the breed.

Entourage is great looking, being level made, tall fronted and level hipped. He is correct in his pastern strength with slope to his forearm and shoulder with a perfect hip and hind leg. Transformer is a massive structured boar that has enormous bone and huge feet. He has incredible shape down his top and a huge hip. Transformer is level down his topline and tied in perfect in his ham-loin hook up. Transformer on the move is super correct from a soundness standpoint and toes are all pointing the right direction. What we saw was what we wanted; he was a carrier and sired by the most dominate Spot boar in the country, Transformer. Contagious has the ability to take us even farther with more width, muscle, and bone than his daddy. Contagious’ mother is a littermate to Ram It, which is sired by the other dominating boar in the breed Rampage.

Contagious is moderate with great shape and level from the side. He opens up with width and squareness coming at you and leaves you with the same width and squareness. Contagious is as flexible as you can build one with great reach out of his hind leg and great angle to his knee.

At the start of 2012, we set out to try to find the Yorkshire boar to take the next step. After the Yorkshire show at STC, we knew we found our guy. It took $46,000 and us teaming up with 3 of the top Yorkshire breeders in the country - Ricker Yorkshires, Bobell Farms and Thompson Brothers, to bring Fifty Shades back to Indiana. When Thompsons called me and wanted to buy back into this one, that got us even more excited to have that much confidence in one to get back in on him.

Fifty Shades has an incredible skeleton, being square coming and going with the ideal lenght of body to make CHAMPION barrows, gilts and breeding stock. He has great shape down his top with a full square rump with shape working down his stifle. Center body is ideal and feet and legs are as good as it gets. He has great reach off both ends with set to his massive feet but not down on his pasterns. We are excited to own this guy and look forward to seeing him take all involved and anyone that uses him to the NEXT LEVEL.

Here is the $10,000 Reserve Grand Yorkshire Boar at the 2012 STWC. We teamed up with Ricker Yorkshires to bring this guy back home. We have so much confidence in this boar wanted to keep a big chunk of him. When Kevin said he wanted to get in on him, we teamed up and made it happen.

This is the stoutest and biggest muscled Yorkshire boar I have raised to this date. He has been a standout from day one and is out of a great litter. Change of Mind is so big centered, yet he is awesome in how his neck shoots out of his stout body.

He has great shape down his top and incredible stifle muscle and shape. Change of Mind has great width of chest. He has a good square hip and hind leg as I have ever seen in one!!!

He is flexible with set to his knee and can get out and go out of his hind leg.

We are going to use this boar harder than any Yorkshire boar we ever have! Change of Mind is going to make some NOISE!

Best In Show has a massive chest floor and is square to the ground. He is a moderate framed boar that is level made and has a neck that shoots out the top of his shoulder. He is a muscular hog that still has curvature to his feet and legs and flexibility.

2012 has been a great year for Yorkshire purchases for Upperhand Genetics. When we went to Moyers to look at young pigs, we were taken into the barn where this 9 litter Yorkshire boar was and we were going to try to own him some way.

After a week and a pile of text messages, he was owned by us. When Drive Through was loaded on our trailer, we were told, “That’s the Best One To Leave Our Farm.” That is a big statement from a successful firm.

Drive Thru is an extended hog that is tall shouldered and level down his topline and has a stout skull. He is an expressive muscled hog that has a massive chest and a square correct hind leg. All his angles read correct with flex and comfort on the move. We look forward to breeding Drive Thru to our moderate made sows that need to be taller fronted, better looking and have more shape and muscle. Not only is he a great boar to look at but his pedigree really excites us. His sire, Direct Hit, has been dominating in the showring the past year.

Bandwagon is tall shouldered, level made, and as correct as you can make one. He is square at his knee and has a perfect hip and hock that can help the Chester breed. This guy is heavy structured and very flexible coming and going. Make it Rain has a massive rib cage and has great width of body. Love this guy’s shape down his top yet has great look and extension out of his head and neck.

Equation is not only a boar that we really like, but his pedigree is a breath of fresh air. Equation’s mother was the Grand Champion Gilt at the 2010 IN State Fair Open show.

This guy is heavy boned and monster footed.

He is as square and flexible on his feet and legs as you can make one. He is monster chested and has great spread and width up high and carries it to the ground. Equation is the boar that most reminds us of his sire, the breed impacting Problem Solver.

This boar is the correct answer in the Duroc Championship Equation.

Moneyball was our pick of Durocs for the 2012 Summer. This guy is as good of a Duroc barrow sire that we have brought to Huntington to this date. Moneyball is packed full of meat and muscle with an expressive top and massive, shapely stifle. He is a square chested hog that has a great hip and square hind leg. Moneyball has great rib shape and an upheaded attitude that will make those winning show hogs.

From a pedigree standpoint, his dam was from Stephens and gives a little breath of fresh air.

Riggs and Thurston were also the breeders of Moneyball’s late sire, which had a great first and only crop of winners. He combines Buck Cherry and Problem Solver, the two most dominant sires for the breed the last couple year. Jump in on this guy and get ready to sell weanlings and breeding hogs and start building your own MONEYBALL!
