NOVÁ SÍŤ / PRAGUE

Nová síť is an open cultural organisation that supports cooperation between Prague, the Czech regions and other foreign countries. It fills the gap between public services and individual entities within cultural life. It also supports culture development, decentralisation, and cultivating an open civil society. All activities and projects of Nová síť contribute to the development of culture, decentralization and cultivation of open civil society in the Czech Republic. Since 2004, Nová síť has been the administrator of the Czech Cultural Network, which covers more than 25 cultural organisations across the Czech Republic regions. Mutual cooperation in the network is divided into two groups: • NETWORK PARTNERS / a continuous collaboration in the full scope of joint activities • COOPERATION START / the season before the partnership is established Location: Nová síť has been since its beginning connected with Prague 7. In recent years it has been based in the very centre of the river Vltava meander in Prague Holešovice. Events: Nová síť implements four main projects: CZECH CULTURAL NETWORK – a regional cooperation project; MALÁ INVENTURA (Prague, Jičín, Jihlava, Opava, České Budějovice, Karlovy Vary) – a new theatre festival; PRALIN – cultural cooperation between Prague and Berlin; ART-IN-RES – supporting residential stays in the Czech Republic. Possibilities: they are based on targeting major projects and other activities of Nová síť: NETWORKING – building infrastructure for cultural projects of non-profit type, cooperation within IETM, (Nová síť is a member of IETM); ART promotion – professionalisation of artists, provision of administrative, production, organisational and financial facilities including own rehearsing space; EDUCATION, CONSULTANCY AND CULTURAL ADVOCACY – Providing consultations and comprehensive training; awarding „Czech Theater DNA“ awards for the development, contribution and support of the new theatre; creative, manager and Visegrad residences; mediation; public presentations, seminars, discussions. CENTRUM PRO OTEVŘENOU KULTURU / PARDUBICE

Centrum pro otevřenou kulturu (Centre for Open Culture) was established in 2018 from a multi-genre

cultural and production centre Divadlo 29 and Galerie města Pardubic. It is a multi-genre cultural and artistic centre that focuses on the promotion of the contemporary non-mainstream performative and visual arts. Location: Divadlo 29 (Theatre 29) house no. 29 in the historical centre of Pardubice. Galerie města Pardubic (City Gallery Pardubice) – the granary at the little castle. Events: Centrum pro otevřenou kulturu programme is built on the synergy of the multi-genre cultural centre Divadlo 29 and the Galerie města Pardubic – the exhibit-institution of the Kunsthalle type. The programme is based on several year-round projects (Electroconnexion, Jazzconnexion, Etnoconnexion, AniLab, exhibition programme in Galerie města Pardubic), of which common features are a clear programming concept, continuity and emphasis on artistic quality, innovation and being up-to-date. COK works closely with Pardubice non-profit cultural organisations Terra Madoda and Offcity on projects such as Filmfuse, Offcity architekti, Ostrovy v pohybu. D29 initiated and produced several cultural events and art projects located in public space or in currently non-functioning and publicly inaccessible spaces. COK annually realises the regional part of the One World and Tanec Praha festivals. Premises: Divadlo 29 – a multi-functional black box room with a capacity of 110 sitting spectators, a club scene with a café and a gallery with a capacity of 60 sitting spectators and a cellar space adapted as a laboratory for workshops. Galerie města Pardubic – exhibition space. Possibilities: Centrum pro otevřenou kulturu space is suitable for the presentation of virtually all artistic genres, for the realization of creative residential stays, seminars, conferences and workshops. MOVING STATION / PILSEN

Moving Station is a distinct alternative Plzeň scene for contemporary theatre, dance and interdisciplinary artistic experiments, which has been hosting artists from around the world since 2000. The Moving Station is an inspiring place inside an impressively revitalized cultural monument. The completed reconstruction has opened up a space for expanding the base of collaborating artists, supporting new talents through artistic residences, and for developing a new form of a dialogue with spectators and the building’s neighbours. Moving Station is run by JOHAN, a centre for contemporary art and education. Location: Moving Station is an open communication space located in the former railway building Plzeň – Jižní předměstí. Events: JOHAN hosts festivals, cultural events and creative workshops in the fields of alternative art, theatre, dance, fine arts. It also hosts artistic education and drama education projects. The centre organises its own theatre performances, regular events, shows, and exhibitions. JOHAN’s art projects are based on the specific space in which the centre is located. The projects focus also on community work, multicultural and unprejudiced education, personal and social development of children, youth and adults. Premises: The four main areas inside the Moving Station are: a large 20 x 10 x 6m multifunctional hall with a capacity to seat 120 spectators, a 10 x 9m scene, a small conference and exhibition hall with a capacity of 80 people, a stylish railway café with a capacity of 50 people and a spacious entrance Art Nouveau hall in the original state from 1904 for up to 60 people. Mobile platforms or a stage can be built in all the areas. Possibilities: Moving Station is a creative space for a rehearsal and a realisation of theatre, art, music and multimedia projects. It is a suitable venue for festivals, exhibitions, art workshops and symposiums. It has become both a rehearsing space as well as an open atelier for young artists both from the Czech Republic and abroad. VALDŠTEJNSKÉ IMAGINÁRIUM / JIČÍN

Valdštejnské imaginárium (Wallenstein’s Imaginarium) endeavours to revive a historical monument of Vallenstein‘s Loggia with a project called Cultural Imaginarium, focusing on live art, alternative culture, unconventional family events and site-specific projects. The unusual concept stems from the fact that the building of the Vallenstein‘s Loggia has never been completed. The fact that the Wallenstein’s project remained in many aspects an unfulfilled dream, became a great inspiration for the current team aggregated around the monument. For several years, they have been turning this impressive place into a cultural and community centre as well as an independent creative platform of the town. Location: Valdštejnská lodžie is a unique early Baroque monument near Jičín, built by Duke Albrecht von Wallenstein as a part of a composed Baroque landscape. Events: The Cultural Imaginarium project, in addition to organizing concerts, performances, lectures, screenings and workshops, focuses on events of original production. It uses unique spaces and atmosphere of historical buildings and draws on the imagination of viewers. Premises: The main area for organising the outdoor activities is a covered terrace (26 x 9m), for smaller concerts and performances there is an octagonal room OKTOGON (8 x 6,5m) and the CAFÉ LOGGIE (6 x 6m). Possibilities: Valdštejnská lodžie is an inspiring place for a wide variety of artistic activities. Its distance from the city centre makes it ideal for a systematic creative work, artistic residencies, organisation of innovative projects and site-specific projects. OKO / OPAVA

The Opava Cultural Organisation OKO has been striving for an interesting and supraregional dramaturgy since 2009 to attract both mainstream fans and lovers of minority genres. We give space to young artists, support interesting projects while caring for education and entertainment.

Location: Obecní dům (Klub ART, Obecní dům’s gallery, Cesta města exposition, Schössler‘s room with a terrace, Sál purkmistrů), Dům umění (House of Art) in Opava and deconsecrated St. Wenceslas church. All of the locations are situated in the town centre. Events: Music, theatre, films, performances, lectures, commented tours, visual arts and history exhibitions, public space interventions, social gatherings, parties, educational and scientific programmes for schools and general public, topical exhibitions with a supporting curatorial concept and a number of other cultural and social activities. Premises: Klub ART – modern club space, nice environment with high quality equipment and professional production (capacity from 70 to 145 people). Municipal gallery – gallery serving for organisation of exhibitions presenting contemporary visual art. House of Art – former monastery serving as an exhibition hall since 1974. St. Wenceslas church – charismatic spaces of the deconsecrated church are currently being used mostly for classical music concerts, exhibitions, theatre and other events with capacity for 400 people. Expozice Cesta města – a permanent exhibition dedicated to the history of the town of Opava. Possibilities: Good technical background, the possibility of diverse usage of the above-mentioned premises, professional team, cooperating on friendly terms – all of these make a starting point for a great number of possible uses. COOLTOUR / OSTRAVA

Cooltour cultural centre aims to create a contemporary artistic, cultural and social platform, which will allow meetings and encourage cooperation between creative individuals across different communities and groups in Ostrava. We aim to create a permanent progressive independent scene of contemporary art in Ostrava and present high-quality regional, domestic and foreign art production. Location: Cooltour Cultural Centre – Černá louka Exhibition Ground in Ostrava. Events: Cooltour organises performing arts events with a focus on contemporary dance, music production, and attractive theatre projects. We are also the organizers of the contemporary dance festival, the physical theatre and the new circus MOVE fest, which we support during the year by not only domestic and foreign dance performances, but also by movement workshops and a number of accompanying events of a similar character. Premises: A café – with a meeting room, work area and co-work space. A new scene – with a capacity of 450 standing spectators, or up to 200 viewers sitting. Coolna – a multifunctional space for common work. A garden – in the premises in front of the Cooltour with a wooden stage, located under the trees and background made up of shipping cargo containers (bar, bicycle repair shop). Possibilities: On the new scene, café and garden there can be presentations of theatre, dance, music, or transcendent projects with different technical possibilities and audiences. All performers have the opportunity to apply for a residential stay that is available in either the dance or main hall, depending on the current Cooltour programme and prior arrangement. KONTRAPUNKT / HRADEC KRÁLOVÉ

Kontrapunkt the main objective of cultural NGO Kontrapunkt projects is the involvement of the population of Hradec Králové in cultural and social activities, establishing technical cooperation with similar organisations, support of creative people and the preparation of important cultural festivals in Hradec Králové. Location: Town of Hradec Králové and its public spaces. Events: Open Air Programme Hradec Kralove – a non-competitive festival of independent theatre companies and music productions, which will be held at 20 open stages in the historic city centre. Jazz goes city / Jazz Goes to Town – a prestigious music festival, in 5 October days – brings jazz in all of its forms both to the Hradec Králové concert halls and to less usual places for listening. Possibilities: Presentation of independent companies and music productions at the festival Open Air Program Hradec Králové and an international jazz festival Jazz Goes to Town. S RADOSTÍ / VARNSDORF

S radostí (With Pleasure) endeavours – with unflagging enthusiasm – to revive and enrich the culture life of the town of Varnsdorf and the country around it. They do so by organising worthwhile public events such as concerts, exhibitions, theatre performances and film screenings. Location: Anywhere where With Pleasure is invited. Events: S radostí participates in a dramaturgy and organisation of several festivals, especially the Vítr z hor theatre festival and Mandava Jazz festival. The latter is organized in cooperation with German organization Hillerische Villa, thus reviving the Czech-German relations through shared musical feelings. S radostí also closely cooperates with Městské divadlo Varnsdorf (municipal theatre), which is the main organiser of the theatre festivals, jazz concerts and supports artists through residencies. Premises: S radostí has no premises of their own and therefore combines renting, free rent and cooperation with other organisations. Possibilities: Thanks to close collaboration with Městské divadlo Varnsdorf, S radostí can offer spaces for organising artistic residencies and/or musical and theatre performances. KREDANCE / ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE

Kredance is a non-profit organisation that has been active in České Budějovice since 2010. It supports and develops live art at professional and amateur levels in the South Bohemian region. It enhances the general public´s awareness of contemporary dance, movement theatre, new theatre and new circus and creates a friendly environment for meetings of performers and supporters of live art. Location: The theatre’s main place of operation is České Budějovice – its theatre as well as public space and South Bohemian region. Nevertheless, the Kredance activities are international in some of its projects. Events: It also organises dance and movement courses / workshops for adults, it features the teenage dance group KREDANCE COMPANY. We deliver our own motion projects - physical theatre TWO OR TEN and the CAT and many others. During its existence, Kredance has invited dozens of internationally acclaimed dance and theatre lecturers and performers to České Budějovice. Annually, it introduces the contemporary dance and motion theatre festival TANEC PRAHA, the festival of the new theatre MALÁ INVENTURA. It is part of the international project PerformanCZe ExchangeD and the project for disadvantaged children from children’s homes Neboj a pojď! Premises: In autumn 2019 Kredance opened its own space called VÝMĚNÍK1 located in České Budějovice and now the majority of its events take place there. This space is a location for theatre performances, residential stays of artists, dance courses, workshops etc. Výměník is located in the Šumava housing estate. DIOD / JIHLAVA

DIOD, as a cultural centre in Vysočina region, offers a technically well-equipped black box of which spatial layout and capacity can be adapted according to specific requirements. The dramaturgy of the theatre is open and suitable for organising art and social projects of regional artists. At the same time, we introduce drama and dance projects from across the country and thus expand the public awareness of contemporary art in the region. Location: DIOD – modern black box on the spot of a former cinema in the building of Jihlava Sokol by functionalist architect Bohuslav Fuchs. Events: The overall dramaturgy includes drama, movement and dance performances, as well as musical, literary, artistic and film events, creative residences, workshops, projects and festivals that connect various genres. Premises: Black box (12,5 x 17,5m) with no fixed stage and auditorium.
 Possibilities: Within the dramaturgy of the theatre, it is possible to realise artistic and social projects of Czech and foreign artists and organisers. UFFO is a unique modern cultural space that aims to enrich the cultural life in Trutnov and its surroundings, while strengthening the reputation of Trutnov as an open cultural metropolis. Location: UFFO – a unique multi-functional space in the town centre. UFFO has been awarded The Czech Republic Building of 2011 award as well as The Czech Republic Best Investment of 2011. Events: UFFO focuses on drama, music, alternative theatre, concerts of wide genre range, new circus and contemporary visual arts. Cirk-UFF, an international festival of new circus; Theatre Subscriptions (selection of the most interesting theatre achievements in drama, music, movement and alternative theatre); Rodinné Uffokousky (the most interesting theatrical events suitable for the whole family), Trutnovský podzim (international music Festival). Premises: Multi-functional space UFFO, with 5 basic arrangement options (peephole, concert – seating/ standing, arena room, ballroom, congress room), Národní dům Trutnov (national house), Kino Vesmír Trutnov (cinema). Possibilities: Because of its versatility, UFFO is open to many possibilities, specifically for co-productions and residencies, primarily in the „new“ theatre. UFFO provides these capabilities while carefully selecting its partners/companies. LUHOVANÝ VINCENT / LUHAČOVICE

Luhovaný Vincent is an association organising the same name multi-genre festival in the spa town Luhačovice and also a festival for 21st century spa. At the same time, it is the spa’s cultural platform for the 21st century. The festival aims to enrich the cultural life of Luhačovice through fresh music, film, theatre, literature and fine arts. It specialises in genre mixing and mutual enriching of multiple art types and genres. Luhovaný Vincent revitalises the spa space and enriches the tranquil spa town as it develops the idea of spa as a social-cultural phenomenon. Thanks to the festival, this cultural tradition is still fresh. Location: The events are held at the spa premises and at the premises of the town and the spa institutions. Events: Luhovaný Vincent festival takes place for three days at the beginning of summer. Also, smaller cultural events are held. Premises: No private premises. REZI.DANCE / Komařice

Rezi.dance Pod javory (Under the maples), is a residentional house for dance, theatre, performance and cultural projects. We also offer our space for workshops and private events. Location: Residentional house is an old farmhouse, first mentioned in the local chronicles already in 1638. The village and surrounding landscape of the foothills of Novohradské mountains offer a peaceful and inspiring environment. The farmhouse premises with an enclosed courtyard are now a peaceful place for intense seminars and cultural festivities. It is an artistic space that offers a specific atmosphere inspired by creative artistic soul. Premises: Atelier – attic space, floor surface 8 x 8m, height 5m, basic audio and lights, insulated flooring on a wooden grating with a varnished OSB or ballet surface, dark theatre velvet. Accommodation – the capacity is 14 people (attic rooms for 2 to 4 people, a separate house in the garden, fully equipped). VZBUĎME VARY / Karlovy Vary

Vzbuďme Vary is an association that has been supporting the Karlovy Vary cultural scene since 2015 as it supports the creativity and active lifestyle on the local cultural scene. We have no own premises which we see as a limitation but also as a dramaturgy challenge at the same time. We are on the road, we lit up the city by live arts and we create space for contemporary art genres: new theatre, contemporary dance, minority music genres, site specific performance. We start dialogues on current issues in the public space, arts and culture in the town. We aim for a long-term and conceptual support to contemporary arts in Karlovy Vary. Location: We use the spa area and also other spaces in Karlovy Vary and its region. Events: We organise a multi-genre site specific festival Vzbuďme Vary, art events in public space, workshops for the general public, open discussions and think-tanks. Premises: Our dramaturgy uses spa area, other areas in the public space and also local organisation halls. Possibilities: We offer space for theatre, dance, art, literature and music project presentations as well as cooperation (co-production, hosting, facilitation) during open discussions or projects relating to the issues of arts, town, community support and cultural-social activism. SE.S.TA / Žďár nad Sázavou

Centre for choreographic development SE.S.TA has been interested in the development of contemporary dance and the related art genres for a long-time. Since 1999 it has been hosting activities not only for professionals but also for the general public including children. The main aim of the organisation is to support contemporary dance in joining the international sphere and starting interdisciplinary cooperation and discussion. SE.S.TA provides the artists with a wide range of projects whose common features are meetings, meetings of different disciplines with different ways of thinking and creating, with other cultures. Thanks to SE.S.TA, many choreographers on the Czech dance scene and also dancers-artists have found their places in the foreign dance groups. BEGINNING COOPERATION ArtproProstor / Jablonec nad Nisou

The main activity of this association is to revitalise space through artistic projects, to organise cultural events for general public, to connect different directions of art, and to involve students and graduates in these activities. AvantgArt / Vratislavice nad Nisou

Since 2015, this association has been aiming to save the technical monument of the coal and water tower in Vratislavice nad Nisou. It first opened the tower to the public in 2016, its aim being to protect it as an important monument of the Liberec region and to transform it into a cultural centre focused on exhibitions, crafts and art. BuranTeatr / Brno

The BuranTeatr theatre has been active on the Brno independent theatre scene since 2005. Besides the lines of traditional and modern drama devised theatre productions, in recent years they have been trying to create, cooperate and establish contacts in the fields of movement theatre, new theatre and border theatre forms. In addition to its own theatrical production, it hosts and organises other cultural and social activities (workshops, exhibitions, residential stays, etc.). Centrum kultury a vzdělávání Blatná / Blatná

Centrum kultury a vzdělávání Blatná (CKVB) administers and runs the city museum, library, cinema, a community centre with a programme for people of all ages, as well as the city information centre. The CKVB also organises separate cultural events such as music and photo festivals, exhibitions, student festivals, etc. CKVB was founded in January 2012 and is a non-profit organisation co-financed by the town of Blatná. Farmstudio / Vysoká

Physical and mental space for live art and culture located in a historic farmhouse in Vysoká na Kokořínsku. In addition to its own programme, Farmstudio provides facilities for creative stays, symposiums, plenary sessions, and courses for artists, musicians and performers. Fujaré / Rožnov pod Radhoštěm

This creative, dramaturgical-production unit was established in 2016, and since then it has been happily active in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. We organise cultural events, music festival Hlasy, lectures and debates, workshops, interventions in public spaces, and happenings. Fujaré – a civic activity, fun, and an interest in the world. BEGINNING COOPERATION Naplaveno / Stružinec in Jistebnická vrchovina nature reserve

Naplaveno association aims to support cultural activities in the Jistebnicko region. It organizes theatre performances, concerts, seminars, and brings traditions back to life. It focuses on mutual dialogue; it connects local people with city inhabitants. It offers residential space for artists. Naplaveno is located in a small village called Stružinec that offers a cottage, a barn with a theatre stage, a caravan, a workshop, and large meadows in the beautiful countryside as spaces to work, relax, and forget about city noise. Spolek Zlínský Zvěřinec / Zlín

Zvěřinec is an association of natives from the Zlín region where it also organises community-cultural events and, in the future, it plans to create a cultural institution as a centre for meetings, personal development, educating and artistic self-realisation of local people. Tančírna (The Dancing House) is an Art Nouveau building based in the Račí údolí valley, located in the Rychlebské mountains area. It is a cultural institution that organises concerts, readings, theatre and cooperates in the realisation of the Czech-German site-specific festival „V centru/Im Zentrum“. Theatrum Kuks / Kuks

Theatrum Kuks organises a Baroque and Baroque-inspired multi-genre art festival of the same name in the Kuks area and its surroundings. It draws on the tradition of Kuks as a musical, theatre and artistic centre of European significance. Through its festivals, residences, workshops and other projects, it returns live art into this area and stimulates interdisciplinary meetings. Jelení SKOK production group / Velvary Jelení SKOK production group is an association that focuses on two main areas,

developing regional culture and community projects in Velvary and the surrounding area, and also production activities for the Osamělí písničkáři free association founded by Jan Burian in 2002. The association cooperates closely with Velvary, the Velvarská Kostka cultural-education and free time centre, DS Scéna Kralupy, Velvary municipal museum and the Tomáš Vosolsobě Gallery in Velvary.
