DEAR McLEAN RESIDENTS,

As we step into the last trimester of the year, our community is buzzing with activities, charities, and fall festivals that remind us how vibrant McLean truly is.

This month, I’d like to personally invite you to a very special event just next door in our sister community of Great Falls. Internationally renowned pianist Thomas Pandolfi returns for an encore performance on Sunday, November 16th, 2025, at Great Falls United Methodist Church. It promises to be a memorable evening filled with music and connection.

On our cover, we are delighted to feature the Curtis family—a household that beautifully represents the blending of cultures, strong traditions, and a deep love for McLean. Many of you will recognize Mandira Curtis as a fashion influencer and the powerhouse behind LeaseTheDress, but I’ll leave the story for you to discover inside the magazine.

I am also thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new monthly column, “The V Talk”—a dedicated space for open and candid conversations about women’s health. This is an important step in continuing our mission to empower and support one another.

And as I always say, let’s show our support for local businesses! If you haven’t yet, I encourage you to visit McLean’s newest spot, Shō Sushi & Izakaya. It’s a fresh addition to our community, and I know you’ll enjoy it.

With gratitude and excitement for what’s ahead, Warmly,

Raising my family here in McLean has grounded me,” Mandira shares. “It’s shaped my daily rhythm around community, balance, and keeping family values at the heart of everything I do.”

For a decade, Mandira and her husband, Ryan Curtis, have built a life in McLean rooted in love, balance, and intention. Together with their sons, Avin (21) and Neel (18), they’ve celebrated milestones both big and small, honoring traditions that reflect their cultural heritage while embracing the values of family and community service.

Both boys graduated from Langley High School, where they played tennis, supported local causes like Share of McLean, and even delivered treats to the volunteer fire department.

“Giving back has always been a natural part of their upbringing,” Mandira says proudly.

The Curtises delight in all that McLean has to o er, with local favorites like Sweetleaf, Pasa Thai, and Chopt topping the list for family meals. Mandira herself often recharges with a fresh juice from Robeks.

At home, traditions are more than rituals — they are the heartbeat of family life. Birthdays begin with a fully decorated house before the celebrant wakes, setting the tone for a day of joy. The family embraces both Diwali and Christmas with equal warmth, filling their home with light, laughter, and love. Annual trips to India keep them connected to their roots and extended family.

Intentional living is woven into their everyday routines. From “no TV before 8 p.m.” to everyone lending a hand in the kitchen, the Curtises treasure togetherness and the simple daily practices that strengthen their bond.

THE BIRTH OF LEASETHEDRESS

When her sons left for college — both pursuing medicine — Mandira entered a new chapter. With more space to explore her passions, she turned an idea born out of necessity into reality.

“I created LeaseTheDress because there was nothing like it in the U.S.,” she explains. “I wanted women of every age and background to experience the joy of wearing a Cavalli without spending thousands, while rethinking how we consume fashion.”

“For entrepreneurs, stay rooted in your vision and surround yourself with what uplifts you. When you keep your eyes on the prize and let go of distractions, doors open and possibilities expand.”
– Mandira Curtis

At its heart, LeaseTheDress is about empowerment — giving women access to luxury garments at a fraction of the cost while reshaping how fashion fits into everyday life.

What began online has blossomed into a thriving McLean showroom, where clients often describe the experience as more than shopping — they call it a movement. “Many women say we’ve created a LeaseTheDress community,” Mandira notes. “It’s like a golf course for women — a place where friendships are built and networks are made.”

The showroom is filled with laughter, energy, and celebration, often remarked upon by neighboring businesses. With an in-house stylist and Mandira’s own personal guidance, every client receives an experience that feels as memorable as the garments themselves. Reviews on Yelp and Google echo this, praising the warmth, care, and exceptional service that set the business apart

“Your journey is yours — embrace it fully, uplift others, keep your eyes on the prize, and radiate positivity.”
– Mandira Curtis

“The most rewarding part of my work,” Mandira reflects, “is seeing women feel celebrated, empowered, and unforgettable in our pieces.”

Though Mandira is the face of LeaseTheDress, Ryan plays a vital role behind the scenes, managing finances and hiring. “He prefers to stay out of the spotlight, but his involvement is essential,” Mandira acknowledges. Their partnership — both at home and in business — reflects the same balance and collaboration that has defined their 29 years of marriage.

Mandira dreams of expanding LeaseTheDress even further, including a dedicated store for the Treasure Chest collection and another boutique for retired garments — extending the joy of accessible luxury to even more women. For Mandira, fashion is about more than garments; it is about confidence, joy, and connection. And for McLean, the Curtis family embodies what makes this

community extraordinary — families who love deeply, give generously, and remind us that empowerment, like fashion, is best when shared.

At the core of Mandira’s story is her love for McLean. “What I love most about this community is its warmth and support,” she reflects. “We’re a speakeasy, not a mall. That intimacy allows us to connect deeply with our clients. McLean has helped me achieve my vision celebrate every milestone, and build a space where women feel empowered and at home.”

In 2024, Mandira Curtis a passionate collector of couture fashion, founded LeaseTheDress to o er everyone access to exclusive luxury styles at a ordable prices. At LTD designer styles are available for lease or purchase online and at our NEW SHOWROOM in McLean, VA. Contact us at www.leasethedress.com or 703-956-0739 for a custom fitting appointment at our showroom located at 1320 Vincent place, McLean VA 22101

Community Capitalism Building Regional Wealth Through Local Acquisitions A Quiet Revolution in Business Ownership

Thousands of small businesses in Virginia, DC, and Maryland are currently facing a pivotal moment. Their founders, the majority of whom are baby boomers, are ready to retire. Collectively, these companies generate billions in annual revenue and employ tens of thousands of residents. Traditionally, when an owner exits, the most common paths are a family succession, a third-party sale, a private equity roll-up, or simply closing the doors. But a di erent model is emerging… one that keeps wealth, jobs, and decision-making power right here at home. I call it Community Capitalism.

WHAT IS COMMUNITY CAPITALISM?

Community capitalism is the intentional purchase of established local businesses by local investors, entrepreneurs, or cooperatives with the goal of retaining profits and leadership within the region.

Unlike outside acquisitions, where distant investors often cut jobs or relocate operations, community capitalism prioritizes:

• Local ownership:Buyers live or work in the region and have a direct stake in its economic health.

• Employee stability:Maintaining jobs and culture is as important as financial returns.

• Circular wealth:Profits flow back into local neighborhoods, schools, and projects rather than out-of-state funds.

WHY NOW?

1. Historic Ownership Transfer—More than 2.5 million small U.S. businesses owned by Boomers will change hands by 2030. In the DMV alone, that’s tens of thousands of companies.

2.Capital Ready to Deploy— Community banks, credit unions, and SBA programs are more willing than ever to finance well-run, cash-flowing businesses—especially when buyers show a commitment to local stewardship.

3.Post-Pandemic Priorities— After years of disruption, communities value resilience and local self-reliance. Supporting hometown entrepreneurs aligns with those priorities.

HOW COMMUNITY ACQUISITIONS WORK

1. Pooling Capital—Local investors, professionals, and small family o ices combine resources. Think of it as a “search fund,” but homegrown.

2.Identifying Legacy Businesses—Targets include service companies, specialty manufacturing, healthcare practices,

or niche B2B providers with stable cash flow and longterm customers.

3.Structuring the Deal—Financing often blends SBA loans, seller financing, and investor equity. Because the mission includes stability, terms can be more flexible and relationship-driven.

THE BENEFITS

• Jobs Stay Put—Employees keep their livelihoods, and institutional knowledge remains intact.

• Profits Reinvested Locally– Owners spend and invest in the same neighborhoods.

• Civic Pride—Residents see their dollars sustaining familiar businesses.

Consider a regional HVAC company acquired by a group of local entrepreneurs. Instead of being rolled into a national chain and losing its brand, it continues to serve customers under the same name, sponsors local sports teams, and mentors trade-school graduates.

A CALL TO ACTION FOR THE DMV

The DC–Maryland–Virginia region is uniquely suited for community capitalism. We boast a dense professional network, strong chambers of commerce, and a culture of engagement.

HERE’S HOW TO START:

• Entrepreneurs:Look beyond startups. Buying an established local business can be faster and less risky than building from scratch.

BUILDING THE NEW—TOGETHER

Community capitalism is not charity. It’s smart economics. By keeping ownership and profits where we live, we create a virtuous cycle of wealth, opportunity, and pride.

The next time you hear of a beloved local business changing hands, ask a simple question: could this stay in the community? The answer, with intention and collaboration, can be yes.

If you’re interested in learning more about community capitalism, entrepreneurship through acquisition, or strategies for scaling through mergers and acquisitions, connect with Erika Baez-Grimes, Certified Mergers & Acquisitions Professional (CM&AP) and founder of The BPH Group.

PREVENTING DISTRACTED DRIVING IN MCLEAN

It only takes a glance. A driver checks a text at a red light on International Road. A parent adjusts the GPS while navigating rush-hour tra ic on the way to Lewinsville Park. A teen scrolls a playlist on their phone. With one glance, lives can be changed forever.

DISTRACTIONS INCLUDE MORE THAN TEXTING

When most people think of distracted driving, texting is the first thought. Distraction comes in many forms: eating a sandwich in the car, reaching for a water bottle, or looking in the backseat to soothe a restless child. In McLean and Northern Virginia, tra ic is heavy and drivers are often multitasking. Even a momentary lapse in attention to the road can be catastrophic.

According to the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Highway Safety O ice publication 2024 Virginia Tra ic Crash Facts, Virginia saw 20,758 crashes involving distracted drivers in 2024. Ninety fatalities occurred in 2024 from distracted driving, which marked a 40.6% increase from 2023. According to the same report, the top three distracted driving categories were (1) eyes not on the road, (2) cell phone/texting, and (3) looking at a roadside incident. Digging deeper into the Virginia Department of Motor

Vehicles data, Fairfax County accounted for 6,989 of the distracted driving collisions in 2024, or 34% of the state total. Fifteen distracted driving fatalities occurred in Fairfax County in 2024, comprising 17% of the state total.

Who Is Most at Risk?

• Teens: Inexperience combined with constant phone use creates a dangerous mix.

• Parents: Juggling carpools, work calls, and restless kids in the car divides attention.

• Commuters: Long hours on the road lead to fatigue, “zoning out,” and carelessness.

No one is immune from the risks of distracted driving.

THE COST TO FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES

The ripple e ects of distracted driving are immense. Families face physical recoveries from injuries, financial burdens of medical bills and property damage, and significant emotional trauma. Medical bills accumulate, time away from work adds financial stress, and ongoing care needs can span years.

Beyond family impacts, the community pays too. Insurance premiums continue to rise, regardless of payouts in collisions. Roads are clogged with each crash. Schools and workplaces feel the loss when students and employees can’t return as planned after injuries. Crashes aren’t isolated events. There is a much larger societal impact.

PREVENTION STARTS AT HOME

The most e ective prevention is also the simplest: set boundaries. Parents can model safe driving by keeping their phones out of reach. Families can establish phone-free zones in the car. Create a “drop zone” like the glovebox for phones so they’re out of reach. Use apps to silence notifications while driving. Don’t be tempted by access to CarPlay and other screens in your vehicle. Use voice commands as much as possible. Set the GPS before you start driving. Avoid eating behind the wheel. If kids need help in the vehicle, pull over safely to manage the situation before driving again. For teens, encourage them to use driving modes on their phones. Do not drive with headphones or earbuds. Agree that the passenger controls music and texts so that the driver stays focused on the road. Practice “defensive focus” and teach them to spot other distracted drivers with signs like weaving, sudden slowing, and erratic movements. In the workplace, discourage colleagues from answering calls on the road. Too many drivers specifically use “windshield time” to catch up on calls. Never let a colleague attend a Zoom meeting when they’re in the car! Create a cultural shift at your workplace. Hang up the call and plan to speak at a safer time.

WHEN THE WORST HAPPENS

No matter how careful we are, distracted driving collisions are on the rise. If your family is a ected, the first steps are critical:

1. Call the police and ensure a formal police report is filed. 2. Seek immediate medical care, even if injuries don’t seem serious at first.

3. Document the scene with photos, witness names, and the condition of the vehicles.

4. Report the collision to your insurance, but do not give a recorded statement without seeking legal help.

Families deserve an advocate who can hold distracted drivers accountable and secure the resources needed for recovery. Insurance companies will minimize or deny the role of distraction to deny claims. Working with an appropriate legal professional will protect your family.

At Tysons Trial Law, we’ve seen how distracted driving impacts families with catastrophic results in seconds. Our mission is to help families recover after these tragedies and to remind our community that every focused mile brings us closer to safe roads for all.

Artificial Intelligence is Transforming Dentistry

Dentistry is entering a new era—and it’s one that directly benefits you, the patient. At Smile Makers Dental Center, we’ve always believed that compassionate care and advanced technology go hand in hand. Today, artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most exciting breakthroughs reshaping how we keep your smile healthy. In the past, many patients waited until they felt pain before seeking treatment—or even sought second opinions to confirm a diagnosis. With AI, that uncertainty is gone. Our advanced system can detect more than 60 conditions on dental X-rays—including cavities, bone loss, infections, and even ill-fitting crowns—with a level of precision that enhances what the human eye can see. That means we can act earlier, with more confidence, and give you peace of mind about your dental health.

“Dentistry is changing from being an art based on science, to a science based on technology.” – Dr. Geith Kallas

What This Means for You

• Early Detection: AI identifies subtle signs of decay, bone loss, or infection before you ever feel discomfort. Instead of “watching” a small concern grow, we treat it right away.

• Less Invasive Care: Early treatment often means a small filling instead of a root canal, or a simple adjustment instead of tooth

CLEAR ALIGNER THERAPY

loss.

• Improved Accuracy: By reducing human error, AI provides data-driven diagnoses you can rely on.

• Personalized Treatment: Your treatment plan is tailored to your unique needs, history, and smile goals—not a one-size-fits-all approach.

• Faster Results: AI analyzes images in seconds, helping us create your treatment plan more quickly so you can begin care without long delays.

• Better Communication: Clear, AI-generated visuals make it easier to understand your diagnosis and options.

• Increased Trust: When you see the same objective evidence we do, it builds confidence in the care you’re receiving.

• Predictable Outcomes: Whether you’re getting an implant, aligners, or other restorative work, AI planning ensures precise placement and reliable results.

The result is powerful: earlier care, fewer invasive procedures, and better long-term outcomes for your smile. At Smile Makers Dental Center, we believe you deserve this level of innovation.

Just as you would expect your physician to use the latest medical technology, your dentist should invest in tools that safeguard your health today and for years to come.

Aligned teeth are easier to clean—lowering the risk of gum disease and cavities, reducing jaw strain, and preventing uneven tooth wear or fractures.

• Discreet & Aesthetic

• Comfortable, Custom-Made

• Easier Brushing & Flossing

• Predictable Results

Nineteen years ago, a small gathering of 60 women came together to raise funds for breast cancer research at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Nina Hyde Center for Breast Cancer Research. What began in 2006 as Women &Wine has since grown into one of the region’s most inspiring philanthropic traditions—now known as Lombardi Women.

From the start, the vision was simple yet powerful: unite women leaders to fuel research, support patients, and shine a brighter light on the path toward a world without cancer. Nearly two decades later, the annual Lombardi Women’s dinner has become a landmark event in the DC area, gathering hundreds of women whose influence, compassion, and networks continue to transform the landscape of breast cancer research.

At the heart of Lombardi Women is its guiding mission, “Connecting for a Cure.” Each year, the organization brings together business leaders, mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends with one shared vision. While fundraising is central, the impact goes far beyond financial contributions. Guests hear directly from leading physicians, researchers, and patients whose stories underscore both the urgency and hope of this work. A panel discussion, moderated in 2025 by Lesli Foster of WUSA9, will once again feature renowned doctors and thriving patients, creating deeply personal connections that remind attendees why their generosity matters.

The choice of Georgetown Lombardi’s Nina Hyde Center as the beneficiary was no coincidence. Founded in 1989 by Ralph Lauren and Katharine Graham in honor of Nina Hyde, The Washington Post’s fashion editor, the center embodies her legacy of courage, advocacy, and determination—a legacy that continues to inspire Lombardi Women today.

Women Behind the Mission

Since its earliest days under founding co-chairs Barbara Schafer McDu ie and Janet Davis Brooks, Lombardi Women has thrived on the dedication of powerhouse business leaders, many from the Tysons–McLean community. That spirit continues under the leadership of Jennifer Bognet and Meredith LaPier, cochairs of the 2025 event. The committee—many from the

commercial real estate industry—bring their networks and creativity to grow the event year after year. Some sponsors even add a playful touch, like the “Haute Pink Langley Ladies” table.

For LaPier, one of the most moving moments is when attendees are asked to stand: first breast cancer survivors, then those touched by breast cancer, and finally, anyone touched by cancer. By the end, nearly every person in the room is standing—a powerful reminder of both the reach of the disease and the resilience of survivors.

This year’s Spirit of Life Award will honor Blair Todd, who has been living with stage 4 breast cancer since 2022 and continues to embrace each day with grace and gratitude.

TANGIBLE IMPACT

To date, Lombardi Women has raised more than $5 million for breast cancer research. These funds provide flexible resources that allow researchers to quickly test innovative ideas that often blossom into larger, nationally funded projects.

Recent contributions include:

• A pilot grant for Dr. Bill Rebeck’s research on “chemo brain,” which leveraged Lombardi Women’s support into federal NIH funding.

• Expanding genetic advances at the Jess and Mildred Fisher Center for Hereditary Cancer and Clinical Genomics Research.

Georgetown Lombardi remains the only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Washington, D.C., combining groundbreaking research with patient care and community outreach.

Through initiatives like the Davis-McDu ie Innovation in Breast Cancer Award, Lombardi Women also invests in promising young investigators. The 2025 recipient, Dr. Claire Conley, explores the intersection of mental health and oncology, aiming to improve both treatment outcomes and quality of life. Looking ahead, Lombardi Women reminds us that when women unite with compassion and purpose, the path to a cure grows brighter. Be part of this inspiring mission—reserve your table today at the 2025 Lombardi Women annual event.

Did you know that the majority of us are 5 grams short on sodium, 1 gram short on potassium, and 300 mg short on magnesium (drinkLMNT.com)? These numbers may sound a bit alarming, especially from the sodium aspect. According to the FDA, we are advised to consume less than 2.3 grams of sodium per day (drinkLMNT.com). Most people, though, especially those who are mindful of their health and are active, need more sodium in their diets to not only feel their best but perform at their best as well.

Today’s article explains WHY electrolyte balance - sodium, potassium, and magnesium, oh my - is so important, debunking the old-school thought of eliminating salt from your diet, and how proper fluid balance can do a world of good for your health! And a huge thank you to my friends at Drink LMNT - my go-to brand for my daily electrolyte supplements and needs - for providing the valuable information shared with you here.

WHY LOW-SALT DIETS ARE SO OLD-SCHOOL

Low salt diets were backed upon research from the 1960’s, and were first published by the US Dietary Guidelines back in the 1980’s. While the research findings seemed to make sense, these studies were not performed on humans - instead they were done in a lab - and, ultimately, it did not really show a comprehensive look of an actual individual’s sodium intake. To this day, the research, coupled with other observational findings by the FDA, has continued to make the claim that we need to be consuming a fairly low sodium diet (drinkLMNT.com).

It has been ingrained in us to believe that lowering our salt intake will yield a healthier lifestyle and help to keep our blood pressure in check. As we know, high blood pressure is the main risk factor for dementia, stroke, and heart attacks. When you start to break the research down, though, a handful of studies show this theory to be inconclusive. For example:

In 2011, the Journal of American Medical Association published a study that looked at heart disease e ects and salt intakes. It concluded that individuals who restricted

their sodium intake had a 19% higher risk of cardiovascular death than those who consumed 4-6 grams of sodium per day (com).

• In 2018, a review showed little to no findings that reducing salt helped to prevent heart failure (com).

• In 2020, the Cochrane Collection showed there were more negative side e ects from salt restriction vs. how it a ected one’s blood pressure (com).

• The Framingham O spring Study showed that a decrease in one’s sodium intake had the opposite e ect on blood pressure…it was actually HIGHER (com)!

• The Intersalt Study showed no correlation between high blood pressure and an increase in sodium intake. If there was, it would have been prevalent in this study. When you don’t get enough sodium in your diet, your body goes into something called “sodium-retention mode” (drinkLMNT.com). When this happens, it releases hormones that have your kidneys retain sodium and, unfortunately, raises your blood pressure (drinkLMNT.com).

While too much is never a good thing, most individuals need 4-6 grams of sodium per day - more if you are extremely active and/or if following a specific diet such as Keto (drinkLMNT. com). As you can see, this is much higher than the FDA recommended amounts & guidelines. Ultra processed diets, combined with sedentary lifestyles, have a greater impact on our health than salt alone. The moral of the story? Consuming whole, clean, nutritious foods, adding exercise and movement throughout your day, and maintaining proper fluid balance far outweighs jumping on the low-salt train.

LET’S TALK ABOUT FLUID BALANCE

The easiest way to properly hydrate is to think of this equation - water + electrolytes = proper fluid balance. For the most part (and a generalization),

© Best Version Media

EXPERT CONTRIBUTOR

individuals get enough hydration throughout the day due to their water consumption. The body is smart; when we start to get to the point of being dehydrated, our brain signals the hypothalamus and we drink something (drinkLMNT.com). It’s a little di erent when it comes to electrolytes. Craving salt helps us “get by” but getting enough salt for optimal health and performance is not as fine tuned. We have to work a little harder to make it happen. Sodium helps to balance fluid outside of your cells, while potassium does the opposite; it helps regulate fluid balance inside your cells (drinkLMNT.com).

In an e ort to keep things running as smooth as possible, getting a su icient amount of both water and electrolytes is going to help keep your body in check…and running at its best! Let’s check out the benefits next!

HYDRATION BENEFITS

We just talked about the importance of fluid balance; NOW, let’s see what happens when everything is in harmony with one another!

1. An Increase in Cognitive Function: Both sodium and potassium play a huge role for your brain cells. When you have obtained the proper fluid balance, you will start to notice less “brain fog” (drinkLMNT.com)!

2. Improved Energy & Performance: Sodium deficiency can be a main culprit for athletes, and a lot of times mistaken for low blood sugar. Same goes with performance, especially if working out in warm conditions. When you sweat, you lose both water and sodium. Replacing both is KEY, especially if you are a high endurance athlete and are looking to perform at your very best (drinkLMNT.com)

3. A Decrease in Muscle Cramps & Headaches: An electrolyte imbalance/deficiency is most likely the reason we experience the onset of muscle cramps. The same goes for on-going headaches. Making sure we get the right amount of sodium each day can help alleviate both (drinkLMNT.com)!

4. Improved Blood Pressure: Did you know that electrolytes play an important role in reducing the risk of being diagnosed with hypertension? An increase in both potassium and sodium have been shown to decrease blood pressure in those who have hypertension. And, in case you were wondering, a lack of sodium has actually been shown in studies to INCREASE blood pressure - not the other way around (drinkLMNT.com)!

5. Glowing Skin: We have all been there when we start to experience that pesky dry skin. We can point the finger at the weather but, most of the time, it has to do with not being properly hydrated and deficient in various vitamins and minerals (drinkLMNT.com)!

6. Improved Digestion: If you have ever had trouble with, ah hem, things “moving” properly, your doctor may advise you to take a supplement that includes magnesium, specifically magnesium oxide. Consuming an appropriate amount of magnesium will help to mitigate the possibility of a sluggish

digestive system and (potentially) constipation (drinkLMNT. com). Of course, it should come as no surprise that staying hydrated is vital for all phases of digestion, and to keep things chugging along.

7. A More Sound Sleep: Continuing the magnesium discussion, this electrolyte has been shown to reduce insomnia and to increase a deeper sleep, particularly with the elderly population. Sodium also plays a role in making sure we stay in REM longer, and get a more restful night’s sleep (drinkLMNT.com).

There are so many electrolyte supplements on the market but I am a true believer (and fan) in the products from Drink LMNT. Their electrolyte ratio consists of 1000 mg of sodium, 200 mg of potassium, 60 mg of magnesium, and 0 mg of sugar. Before starting any new supplement regime, please make sure to consult with a healthcare professional. Everyone’s needs are going to be di erent, and how much YOU need everyday is going to be dependent on your lifestyle and goals!

CSZ Network was built on the belief that these moments deserve to be seen and celebrated. The platform provides scores, schedules, standings, and news updates all in one place, ensuring that fans, families, and players never miss a beat.

“High school sports are a cornerstone of our communities, but coverage has struggled to keep up as local media resources have declined,” said Jake Shipley, CEO and co-founder of CSZ Network.

“We created CSZ to ensure that every parent, player, and fan has a reliable place to find scores and updates. Expanding into Virginia is a big step toward building a national platform that keeps local sports alive and thriving.”

Already a go-to source in Maryland and DC, CSZ has now expanded its coverage across Virginia. Parents and fans in Northern Virginia can visit CountySports.Zone to track their teams, check league standings, and stay connected to the games that matter most.

CSZ also works directly with schools and leagues to integrate schedules and results onto league-branded websites. That means athletic directors, coaches, and fans alike have an easier way to keep their communities informed.

For players, the visibility o ers recognition beyond the field. For parents, it’s peace of mind knowing they can follow their child’s

season in real time. For communities, it’s a rallying point that keeps the spirit of high school sports strong.

With its recent expansion in Virginia, CSZ Network is making sure these stories continue to be told and celebrated, one game at a time.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends yearly exams for all women 18 and older, as well as sexually active women of any age. Depending on your history and risk factors, this visit may include Pap smears or HPV testing for cervical cancer, breast cancer screenings, and other preventive tests.

But the well-woman exam is about more than screenings. It’s a chance to talk about concerns that a ect daily life and well-being, such as low libido, painful intercourse, or urinary issues like frequency and incontinence. Your provider can also help with contraception, pregnancy planning, sexually transmitted infections, mental health, and lifestyle habits like diet, alcohol use, or smoking. Vaccines — such as the yearly flu shot or HPV vaccine — are also key preventive measures.

At Annandale OB/GYN, we call this approach “Women’s Health Holistic Healthcare Above the Standard of Care”:
