Summer Bridge

As part of our commitment to support the academic success and engagement of all students, we offer programs to meet them at their point of academic entry to Notre Dame and move them forward with opportunities for growth and challenge over four years.

In addition to math placement, the ALEKS assessment may identify students who have notable gaps in their math preparation prior to Notre Dame. Those students will be identified for a Summer Math Bridge program to support their transition to high school. The three-week program is led by the 9th grade algebra teacher and has demonstrated success in preparing students for entering our math program. Notification of this requirement will be shared with families after the assessment period closes and can be further discussed in the appointment with the student’s counselor in April.

Throughout the year, the math department hosts an after school math lab to support all students with their math homework and concepts. Students receive one-on-one support from math teachers during this lab time. Students can also sign up for individual tutoring provided by our California Scholarship Federation (CSF) student tutors.
