CELEBRATING 20 YEARS AS HEAD OF SCHOOL
Thank you, Sister Patricia, for leading Notre Dame Preparatory School with grace, faith, spirit, and love for 20 years!
Dear Friends of Notre Dame Prep,
On behalf of the entire Notre Dame Preparatory School community, it is my honor and joy to welcome you to NDP in Bloom, this year’s annual NDP Gala!
Blessed Theresa of Jesus, School Sisters of Notre Dame Foundress, wrote that God’s works flower all the “lovelier” because of their sturdy roots. This is especially true for the students of Notre Dame Preparatory School. Our NDP community works intentionally, faithfully, and lovingly so our girls may “bloom” into young women ready and able to transform the world.
Tonight, we celebrate the blessing Notre Dame Prep is to the many whose lives have been touched by this amazing institution. We also celebrate those whose generosity provides the opportunity for our students to grow and to thrive in their intellectual development, their faith, and their service to others.
Throughout its history, Notre Dame Preparatory School has been a sacred place where young women are called to discover and develop their God-given gifts, deepen their faith, and grow in love, wisdom, and justice. Since its founding in 1873, NDP’s mission of transformational education, rooted in the charism of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, has guided generations of girls to become women who transform the world for the better. This evening’s Gala is a celebration of that mission, as every gift made tonight strengthens the programs, experiences, and opportunities that nurture the hearts and minds of our students, empowering them to live out God’s call with purpose and grace.
As this is my last time celebrating the Gala with you as Head of School, I want to express my deep gratitude to everyone who has made my time at Notre Dame Prep so special and memorable. I thank God for our parent partners who share their most precious gift, their daughters with us, and support the school in so many ways; for the friends who generously share their time, talent, and treasure; for the alumnae whose love and loyalty for their alma mater is deep and constant; for the faculty and staff who daily plant seeds of inquiry, analysis, and critical thinking in their classrooms; and, most especially, for our wonderful students, whose energy, spirit, sense of fun, and love inspire us and bring joy to each day!
Many individuals have made this evening possible. Our appreciation goes to the volunteers who planned and executed NDP in Bloom, especially Jessica Kotlar P’28, Lori Grenier P’26, P’27, and Candace Enoch P’22, P’25, Auction Co-Chairs; Rochelle Brown P’24, Volunteer Chair; and Sam Miller GP’21, Decorations Chair. We also thank our Gala sponsors for their generous support. Much gratitude goes to Colleen Driscoll ’87, Director of Advancement Events, for her leadership, and to all the members of the school’s Advancement Department for their dedication to the event. DJ Kopec is a Baltimore-based artist and performer who has been spinning professionally for more than twenty years. A long-time fixture at Baltimore social, corporate, and sporting events, Kopec gained renown as a pandemic virtual superstar as he went viral from his basement studio in 2020. He has created immeasurable impact through his influence as a local philanthropist, and now pumps up players and fans as the official DJ of the Baltimore Ravens.
