Symbolic of the world-wide tribute being extended to the Sacred Heart, Notre Dame Sisters and students kept a perpetual lamp burning before His altar. Mother Mary Loyola opened the solemn candlelighting ceremony on Easter Sunday. then in turn each class set its Candle of Love and Reparation aglow. Preparatory for a Career in the Apostolaf Margaret Hickey and Faith Philipp survey ever-fascinating panels to tabulate the growing list of alumnae religious.

Sixty-eight Notre Dame Sisters and thirteen religious in other communities allude to the sodality as the guardian of their vocations.

That the sodality realize one of its objectives--the fostering of religious v0cations-—the Rev. Thomas Haley, S.J., Omaha moderator, planned a Vocation Congress for Omaha sodalists on March 18. It was a day of motivation, information, and inspiration for the 300 who attended.

Deft lighting in the hands of Marcia Cordes and Betty Bruning gave the play an elaborate sheen.

Gorgeous costumes were fashinoed by the clothing classes. Busily engaged in advancing duction were Mary Jo Stanek, Barbara Ferris, Maureen Bodnar, and Jeanne Snoza. Marysales for the procision at the curtain and Eileen Barnes's make -up technique deserve applause. Although all Friends of Notre Dame earn enviable records ofdevoted service, these mothers' names (below) stud the pages of Notre Dame annals. Not content with givinggenerously of their time, efforts, and to Notre Dame their most resources, they gave precious treasure -- a daughter.

Mrs. Joseph Pluhacek Sr. and Sister Mary Dorothy (pictured at right) hold rightful place in this group, but because of illness missed the photographer's appointment. The Pluhacek children took advantage of homecoming for the Christmas holidays to celebrate their parents' golden wedding anniversary.

Down through the years since 1920 Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pluhacek excelled in promoting every benefit project sponsored for the Notre Dame sisters.
