Notre Dame Academy Omaha, Nebraska

into 0,7411 0512 was on the feast of the Assumption August 15, 1853 that the Rev. Gabriel Schneider in Horazdovice, Czechoslovakia, clothed the first postulants in the habit of the Notre Dame Sisters, thus grafting a new branch on the tree of the Congregation founded by St. Peter Fourier in collaboration with Blessed Alix LeClere in France in 1598.

Notre Dame Academy Our Alma Mater, as it nestles on one of the Florence hills, is one of the achievements of a hundred years of existence of the Congregation of the School Sisters of Notre Dame. Institutions of this kind dot the mother country from which they came.

Today, only in a free country like ours, in these halls of learning, in the parish schools and Indian mission under their

charge is the work for which they were founded carried on.
