UNIQUEYOUTH
Our new Brooklyn producer Zach came up to visit our Bronx studio to hang with the youth, deciding to cook up something from scratch with long-time member and brilliant guitarist, Lucas. Zach programmed some drums on the ableton push while Lucas and I figured out some parts to build out the track. Lucas has lately been inspired by the group, “Duster”, so we checked out some of those tracks for reference before piecing together our own interpretation. Check out the final mix on our soundcloud!

Katseye, practicing trading off vocal parts as well as singing in unison. Then I taught them about reharmonization and how many chords can function under simple melodies, before reharmonizing the wholetrack.Checkouttheiruniquerenditiononour soundcloud!

New explorers Jannelis, Ana, Zvi, Mason, and Aileen got in the christmas spirit and vibed out inourjamroom.Theychosetosingalongtothe classic hit, “All I Want for Christmas is You”, by Mariah Carey. Mason and Aileen played around on the piano and drums while the other 3 sang along to the track. I’ve noticed Karaoke always helps youth conquer their stage fright and project their voices when they sing. Check out theirperformanceonouryoutubepage!

Michael is preparing for a performance January at his school where he will be DJing an event for his peers.
We’ve had a great time sorting through songs he’s chosen and figuring out how to work the Tracktor DJ controller together these past few weeks. There are tricks he’s been showing me that I didn’t know and I’ve been teaching him what I’ve figured out so far.
We’ve both been having a blast getting better at the turntables and I can’t wait for him to show off his skills for an audience!

STUDIO PHOTOSHOOT
Moises has been getting into photography and brought along his new camera to take some sick pictures of the studio while we mixed his upcoming project. On top of taking pictures, he works part time singing and dancing as a Michael Jackson impersonator, finishing his GED program with his sister, and even creating graphic designs for his friends’ artistic careers. I’m constantly inspired by his unyielding motivation, and I’m honored and flattered to be the first producer to record his vocals. Stay tunedformoreofhismusiconoursoundcloudsoon.
