Studio Grand Opening May 26th was our grand opening event here at MAS. We invited people from the music community and gifted Keith Mardok (Donor) with Platinum Record. The Event was streamed and posted here.

Star Youth Lydia Lydia was tasked with performing the “First Song” at the grand opening event. She sang her rendition of “Umbrella”

by Rihanna & Jay Z. She did such a great job that she was offered a scholarship by one of the attendees. She graduates this june but will be returning to assist N4N, being gifted and employment opportunity through the partnership with BGC.

Discovery World Visit

DJ sessions

Phil and I met with discovery world about plans to collaborate in the summer on programming and performance opportunities. We also had talks about building a studio in their facility. Info about Discovery World can be found here

Jeshira has been our most consistent youth in the program this month. She attends almost every session while working a job after the program and school. She has been working hard on her vocals with the goal of delivering a series of cover performances to record and share.

With our turntable setup fixed we began our DJ Sessions. Which brought in new youth to the program. I foresee this being a focus point in programming for the summer.
