"Memphis Zoo" is a product of our Memphis Madness collaborative sampling series—a hands-on music programming initiative where aspiring youth artists and producers reimagine the city’s legendary soundscape flipping iconic "Memphis" music samples. This track samples a popular song from the Blocboy JB era, but can you guess which one? Through guided collaboration and sample-based production, "Memphis Zoo" was produced as a bold tribute to the raw, iconic sound of Memphis—bridging past and present in a track that’s both nostalgic and new. “PULL UP TO THE CLUB (THIS AIN’T WHAT YOU WANT)”
"Pull Up to the Club (This Ain’t What You Want) is another product of our Memphis Madness collaborative sampling series, sampling a popular song from the Three Six Mafia era. It is an energetic, upbeat anthem inspired by the Boys & Girls Club, blending catchy hooks with a message of empowerment and community. The track boasts the club's incredible impact, inviting new members to join and highlights its positive influence. The song promotes the club as the best place to grow, thrive, and make lasting memories, while the infectious beat gets listeners ready to join the movement. KNOWLEDGE QUEST x NOTES FOR NOTES (MEMPHIS): UPTOWN - KQ YOUTH
Integrating music into their summer camp experience, Knowledge QuestpartneredwithNotesforNotes(Memphis)tohelptheKQyouth create an original track to perform at their end-of-summer showcase event. With support from N4N’s resources and mentorship, the young artists wrote, produced, and recorded a song titled "Uptown"—replacing a YouTube beat they initially found with an originalinstrumentalcraftedwithN4N’shelp.Theperformancewasa standout moment of the showcase, receiving enthusiastic feedback and praise. Energized by the experience, the youth are eager for moreopportunitiestoexploremusicandcreativity.
PORTER-GOODWILL (BGC) x N4N (MEMPHIS): HOT CHEETOS - BGC YOUTH @ PORTER-GOODWILL
WiththehelpandsupportofNotesforNotes(Memphis),theyouthat the Porter-Goodwill Boys & Girls Club took the lead in producing, writing, and recording an original track titled "Hot Cheetos," a flavorful ode to the little things that bring big joy. As part of N4N's ongoing music-driven programming and outreach, the youth tapped into their talents and voices to build something uniquely their own. The track is still a work in progress, but you can check out an early snippet and witness the energy and creativity coming to life. More to comesoon!
Music Discovery and Spotlight Sessions at N4N (Memphis) continue to be powerful tools as far as engaging youth in fun, low-pressure ways while introducing them to the fundamentals of music and performance. By combining music education with the excitement of karaoke, interactive games like Rock Band, and the access to live instrumentation, these sessions have helped build confidence, spark creativity, and uncover hidden talents. The program has proven especially effective in drawing in new participants and creating a safe space for self-expression—often serving as the first step in a young artist's musical journey with Notes for Notes(Memphis).
