AVA ORGAN SOLO
In making our motown style song, Ava was able to show off her keyboard skills with an improvised solo! We learned about keys, and how to play a specific scale, and Ava was able to play a really cool solo over the instrumental we made.
SUMMERTIME GOT ME FEELING SO GOOD I DIDN’T LIKE TODAY
This was a song made in the style ofmotown music! We had a heavy emphasis on the back beat for this song much like motown music did, and we all recorded different instruments for the first time and made a really sweet track about summer!
The first week we learned about the history of the Blues in Detroit. Youth wrote about struggles that they faced in their lives, and then we all worked together to create an instrumental staying true to the 12 bar blues form.
HEART COLD AS ICE
During the week were we learned about rock music, Amari, Karter, and Carsonwrote a song about a heartbreak they were going through. We learned a lot about recording drums and layering guitars with this song.
