Funky Drummer
Not only do our youth practice traditional drumming, they hone their ability to:
1. Pick drum sounds from a library
2. Convert their live performance into MIDI sequences.
This month a handful of youth have chosen the role of “finger drummer”, aiding the rest of the band in rehearsal or songwriting.
First Take
New Year,new talent! Some of our youth who have been in the development stages of their artistry have taken over the booth since the winter break. Utilizing record-first techniques has allowed some of the magic caught in the first few takes to make it onto their record.

SOUNDS!
Many of the youth have interests that converge with the world of music. Whether it be video games or anime N4N DC has spent the last few months working on our sound association and design skills. This month we have completed our benchmarks and have a cache of beats, loops, and ambiences.
In The Zone
Music is an emotional experience. The youth at N4N learn to recognize and express their feelings just as much as playing any instrument. Through this their musicianship and overall focus improves, along with their social skills.
