SONIC STATEMENT There will be a future where all youth who desire to experience producing music will have the opportunity. There will be no barriers to what, how, why or when they create the music they desire. Music and the freedom to express themselves will be the catalyst that helps them discover an identity and a path.

Notes for Notes will be the first door they walk through in every community that embraces their desire to begin a musical journey. The studio is the environment, music is the tool, and our focus is helping them build CONFIDENCE, CREATIVITY, COMPASSION, COMMITMENT AND COMMUNITY that will prepare them for whatever path they choose.

STUDIOS FOR YOUTH NOTES FOR NOTES® is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing youth with completely FREE ACCESS to music instruments, instruction and recording studio environments so that music may become a profoundly positive experience in their lives.

NOTES FOR NOTES® are packed with guitars, drums, keys/ synths, DJ gear, digital music stations and professional recording gear offering youth completely FREE ACCESS to explore, create, and record music. Located inside Boys & Girls Clubs and after-school centers in underserved areas around the country, every studio is staffed by a N4N team member. These producers educate, encourage, and listen to each youth member to help them be their best selves, both personally and artistically.

TJ CARPENTER has led the Chicago studio since 2019, helping youth grow from first sessions into confident, independent artists. A Chicago-born producer, DJ, and teaching artist, she brings real industry experience into the studio through her work producing and engineering for local artists.
