1 This is Minna. She is a princess. Princess Minna is very good at lots of things. She is good at taming unicorns, kissing frogs and fighting dragons. Chapter One
Princess Minna has a granny called Granny Hoodie. Granny Hoodie loves making things with wood and making things with wool and she lives in a bungalow on the Mystical Moor. She is called Granny Hoodie because she knits Princess Minna a new hoodie for her birthday every year.

3
Princess Minna lives in Castle TallTowers with the King, the Queen and a wizard called Raymond. When all is well in the kingdom, lots of grey doves sweep and swoop around the towers making soft cooing noises. They make the whole castle smell like tutti-frutti ice cream.
4
When all is not well in the kingdom, big seagulls fly up from the coast and scare the doves away. Then they flip and flap around the towers, making screechy, squawking noises. They make the whole castle smell like old seaweed.
5
One morning, Princess Minna woke up and looked out of her window. Wow.
6
Everything was covered in a sparkling white layer of snow.
7
“Hurrah!” cried Princess Minna. She could have a snowball fight!
She could go sledging! She could build snow dragons on the front lawn with Lorenzo!
Lorenzo was a dragon but he was also Princess Minna’s best friend, so she never needed to fight him. This was going to be the most excellent day ever.
9
Princess Minna was so excited she didn’t notice that there were seagulls
flipping and flapping
outside her window. She didn’t notice the smell of old seaweed either. She didn’t even notice the horrible screeching and squawking noises.
10
She got dressed, grabbed her favourite woolly hoodie, and ran downstairs.
“Minna, thank goodness you’re here,” said the King.
“All is not well in the kingdom,” said the Queen. “We’ve just had an email from Granny Hoodie. She’s snowed in.”
12
“Yes,” said the King. “There is so much snow around her bungalow that she can’t even open the front door to get outside. Please could you sort it out, Minna?”
“Of course!” said Princess Minna. She loved sorting out problems in the kingdom. “Poor Granny Hoodie. I can get there really fast if I fly on Lorenzo.”
“Goodness, no,” said the Queen. “Lorenzo has got a winter cold. He won’t be able to go with you. He’s staying in bed today.”
“Oh,” said Princess Minna. “Then perhaps Raymond could come instead. He might be able to speed things up with a magic spell.”
14
15
“Goodness, no,” said the King. “Raymond also has a winter cold. If he goes out in the snow it might get worse…”
“…and then where will we be?” said the Queen.
“No problem!” said Princess Minna. All she had to do was run into town, pass over the Rickety Bridge, turn right at the Enchanted Forest, find her way across the Mystical Moor, dig the snow away from Granny Hoodie’s bungalow and get back home again.
sledging and snow dragons.
“But do be careful,” warned the King. “A Big Bad Wolf has been stalking the Mystical Moor recently, striking fear into the heart of everyone he meets.”
“Yes,” said the Queen, “so don’t stray from the path.”
“Okey-dokey,” said Princess Minna. She waved goodbye, grabbed a royal spade from the royal shed and set off on her way.
