Welcome to Nosy Crow’s second catalogue and stocklist, with information about all of our 2013 titles and backlist.
We had a great time in 2012, which was our second year of publishing. We won several awards, including the Independent Publishers Guild Children’s Publisher of the Year award. We published 35 new books and six apps. We launched seven debut authors, and published nine further authors or illustrators who were new to our list though they’d been published before. We sold rights to our books in 18 languages. We grew our website readership, our email subscription list, and our number of Twitter followers and Facebook fans. We made a picture book in three weeks, from idea to delivery to John Lewis (on whose Christmas TV ad it was based). We sold, throughout the world, over £2,000,000 of books and apps.
In 2013, we’ll publish 50 more books and another handful of highly-ambitious, ground-breaking apps. In January 2013, we launched Stories Aloud, a way of delivering free digital audio content with every one of our paperback picture books (see p58). So the year started with a project that we think is very true to Nosy Crow: innovative, supportive of retailers and librarians, parent-friendly and child-focussed.
