There’s an old building on the edge of town. Once, people worked there, but not any more. The windows are broken and the roof lets in water. It crumbles away, a little more each day.

But a team is coming to make something new.
Daisy with her bulldozer,

Amy is the architect in charge. She draws up plans to share with Norman:
He’s the builders’ foreman. He gets all the right people and machines on site.
Doug with his big digger,
and the tower crane worked by Jane –that’s even bigger.

Piece by piece, Jane’s crane goes up. Brick by brick, the old building comes down.

Most of the building falls, but not quite all – parts of it can be reused. Lots can be recycled.
Doug and Daisy clear away the rubble. They scoop and smooth until the plot is neat and flat.

Some of the team come for one job and then go.

But the work of Jane and her crane has only just begun. She climbs the ladder to her cab every day.
