100TH ANNIVERSARY LITURGY HOMECOMING
On September 26, 2021, NFA held its long-awaited 100th Anniversary Liturgy in the beautiful Mount Saint Joseph Convent Chapel with Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia, alumni, current and former families, and current and former faculty and staff. Many thanks to all who had a part in this moving celebration. Many NFA fans came out to support the Bears as they took on Ancillae-Assumpta Academy on Saturday, October 16, 2021 during Homecoming, which was held at Mount Saint Joseph Academy and La Salle College High School. Thank you to the many parents, faculty, staff, and alumni who came out to root on the Blue and the Gold!

A TWILIGHT TOAST TO THE HOLIDAYS
The greater Chestnut Hill community celebrated “A Twilight Toast to the Holidays” at Norwood-Fonbonne Academy on Saturday, December 11, 2021. The Chestnut Hill Community Association event took place in The Big House on campus, which was decorated by NFA students and staff. Students made all of the ornaments on display in the dining room as well as wooden snowflakes, which gave the front porch a magical feel. A student choir led by NFA Music Teacher Janet Kershner sang festive tunes. Special guests in attendance included NFA President Dr. Ryan Killeen, NFA Principal Nancy Peluso, Kathy Clayton, President of the Chestnut Hill Community Association, Dr. John Scanlon, Vice President & Chief Medical Officer at Chestnut Hill Hospital, and Catherine Brzozowski, Marketing Director at Chestnut Hill Hospital. Brzozowski also serves on the CHCA Board of Directors.

BASEBALL

The 2022 varsity baseball team had a tremendous season and won a share of the 2022 C.A.L. title.
BOWLING

The NFA Parents’ Association hosted the annual Mother/Son Bowling event on February 13, 2022 at Wynnewood Lanes. Fun was had by all!
SNOWBALL
After not being able to host a Snowball Tournament in 2021, families and friends came out in droves to root on the Bears during the 2022 Snowball Tournament, which was held from Feb. 24–27 on campus. The tournament culminated with Norwood-Fontbonne Academy’s varsity boys basketball team and JV girls basketball team winning their respective brackets.

NFA’s varsity boys kicked off Snowball by defeating Waldron Mercy Academy, 55-45, in the final league game of the season to clinch the C.A.L. title. The Bears capped off the weekend by defeating Saint Philip Neri School in the championship game on Sunday to win two trophies in one weekend.
NFA’s JV girls basketball team won its round robin group to hoist the 2022 Snowball Tournament trophy. Earlier in the month, the Bears defeated Waldron to win the JV girls league title. “I couldn’t be prouder of our coaches and teams during this winter season,” said Director of Athletics Jim Rockenbach ’94. “After not having basketball last year the players didn’t miss a beat. We had much to celebrate as the JV girls won a C.A.L. title for the first time in 11 years and also picked up their first-ever Snowball Tournament championship. The boys varsity team won a very competitive league and also won the Snowball Tournament in the same weekend! It was the first Snowball title since 2012 for the boys team. Way to go Bears!” Saint Philip Neri won the varsity girls and JV boys brackets at the 2022 Snowball Tournament. Many thanks to all of the parent volunteers! Special thanks to the 2022 Snowball Committee!
