WELCOME TO THE THEATRE AT NORTHWOOD!

WE ARE SO INCREDIBLY THRILLED TO BRING YOU SUCH A FUNNY AND ICONIC SHOW DURING THIS YEAR’S SPOOKY SEASON AS WE COLLABORATED ON OUR SEASON OF PRODUCTIONS THIS YEAR, WE WANTED THE OPPORTUNITY TO STRETCH OURSELVES AND REALLY SHOW NORTHWOOD’S AUDIENCES WHAT THIS BLACK BOX THEATRE CAN DO! NOT ONLY IS THIS SHOW A CHALLENGE IN AND OF ITSELF BUT ONE THAT SEEMED IMPOSSIBLE WITH OUR THEATRE SPACE NORTHWOOD’S THEATRE DEPARTMENT ROSE TO THAT CHALLENGE AND THEN SOME. WE HOPE YOU HAVE MOMENTS OF AMAZEMENT AND WONDER THROUGHOUT THIS PRODUCTION AFTER LAST YEAR’S DRAMATIC LINEUP, INCLUDING RENT AND ANTIGONE, WE WANTED TO PROVIDE SOME ESCAPISM AND LAUGHTER. WE SURELY ACCOMPLISHED THAT WITH LITTLE SHOP!

THE REHEARSAL PROCESS FOR LITTLE SHOP HAS BEEN AN ABSOLUTE BLAST, DESPITE A FEW SETBACKS AND CHALLENGES. PUTTING TOGETHER A MUSICAL IS NO EASY TASK, ESPECIALLY WHEN MOTHER NATURE FREEZES OUR PROGRESS FOR ALMOST TWO WEEKS! BUILDING THE PUPPETS AND CONSTRUCTING THE SET TO FIT A SMALL THEATRE HAS PROVEN THAT BIG DREAMS RESULT IN GREAT REWARDS. WE ALWAYS HEAR THE SAME DELIGHTED RESPONSE WHEN PEOPLE SEE THE AUDREY PLANT FOR THE FIRST TIME THROW IN SOME POWERHOUSE VOCALS, LIVE ROCK BAND, AND TRUTHFUL ACTING - WE HAVE A BONAFIDE HIT ON OUR HANDS.
