COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGY The Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (MACP) prepares students to qualify for professional licensure as a mental health counselor. This graduate degree can be completed in two years with classes in session from September through July.

HE CAME FOR A CAREER. HE LEFT WITH A PURPOSE. After 12 years in project management, Justin Monuteaux began to ask if there was more to life. That single question led him to the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology program at Northwest University. Now, he has a growing counseling practice that helps struggling couples to rebuild their marriages. “Today my work has real meaning. I love what I do. It’s amazing to watch couples come in with little hope and leave with a stronger marriage than they’ve ever had before.”

Doctor of Psychology in

COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGY The Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) prepares students to qualify for professional licensure as a psychologist in Washington State. Students are equipped to be culturally competent therapists using empirically tested interventions and to administer, score, and interpret psychological tests and assessments. In addition, the Psy.D. opens doors into the academic community through research and teaching at the college or university level.

Year One: Classroom instruction with required cultural immersion experience.

Year Three: Classroom instruction, doctoral practicum, dissertation proposal, and clinical qualifying exam.

THIS DOCTOR WILL HEAL HEARTS. ​ t sixteen years old, Renee St. Jacques A wrote in her journal, “I want to be a heart doctor.” Her life would take a different direction—to Corporate America. One day, she asked herself a simple question: What brings me the greatest joy in life?

It was then that Renee realized she was created to help the brokenhearted. She enrolled in our Psy.D. program to pursue her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology.
