CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING The Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MACMHC) program prepares students to qualify for professional licensure as a mental health counselor. This graduate degree can be completed on campus in two years or online in three years (with two one-week residency experiences on our Kirkland campus through evening and weekend classes), with classes in session from September through July.

HE CAME FOR A CAREER. HE LEFT WITH A PURPOSE. After 12 years in project management, Justin Monuteaux began to ask if there was more to life. That single question led him to the master’s in counseling program at Northwest University.

Now, he has a growing counseling practice that helps struggling couples to rebuild their marriages. “Today my work has real meaning.

Doctor of Psychology in

COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGY The Doctor of Psychology in Counseling Psychology (PsyD) program prepares students to qualify for professional licensure as a psychologist in Washington state. Students are equipped to be culturally competent therapists using empirically tested interventions and to administer, score, and interpret psychological tests and assessments. In addition, the PsyD opens doors into the academic community through research and teaching at the college or university level.

THIS DOCTOR WILL HEAL HEARTS. ​ t sixteen years old, Renee St. Jacques A wrote in her journal, “I want to be a heart doctor.” Her life would take a different direction—to Corporate America. One day, she asked herself a simple question: What brings me the greatest joy in life?

It was then that Renee realized she was created to help the brokenhearted. She enrolled in our PsyD program to pursue her doctorate in counseling psychology.
