Welcome to MSLCE What’s Next? Please read the information in this packet closely. When you are ready to make your decision, visit and follow the instructions to communicate your admissions decision. If you decide to join the MSLCE program, and we hope you will, once you have completed the first three steps listed on the Welcome website, you’ll start receiving information on important dates, class registration, and more.

What are My Options for Funding? We understand that finances play an important role in enrollment decisions. Notice of a merit-based award from the MSLCE program is given in the admission letter. MSLCE is not able to offer teaching or research fellowships, but additional funding resources may be found through the resources listed below.

Office of Fellowships The Office of Fellowships at Northwestern maintains databases of fellowships and scholarships for graduate students, including scholarships for international students. Office of Graduate Financial Aid If you are interested in taking out federal or personal loans, the staff in our office are happy to work with you to put together a financial aid package. For further information, visit: Viewing Financial Aid Loan Packages Financial aid packages can be viewed through the online student portal (CAESAR) once your FAFSA and tuition deposit have been submitted, and your Northwestern NetID has been activated.

How Can I Get a Sense of What Day-to-day Life is Like in the MSLCE Program? Come visit us! We’d love to meet with you and go over any questions you may have in person. Sign up for a campus tour and get to know Evanston. You could even sit in on a class or attend one of our speaker events.

Degree Requirements To receive the Master of Science in Leadership for Creative Enterprises degree, all students must successfully complete a minimum of 14 credits. All full-time students are enrolled in 3 – 4.5 credits per quarter for a total of 4 quarters. The required credits are composed of four (4) core credits, seven (7) elective credits, and a 3-credit summer quarter experience (internship, thesis, or applied project).

Duration of Program

Full-time students are expected to complete the program in one year. Part-time students are expected to complete the program in two to three years. If circumstances occur that affect a student’s ability to complete the program within the stated full-time or part-time track, the student will work with the program office to develop a completion plan. All students must complete all requirements for the master’s degree within five years of the date of their initial registration in the MSLCE Program and are subject to meeting new program requirements should they change during this time.

Tuition Tuition for the AY2020-21 academic year is estimated to be $68,250. Tuition is set during the summer for the subsequent academic year and any tuition increases will be posted as soon as they are finalized. Tuition is evenly distributed across all four (4) quarters of the program for full-time students and includes four (4) quarters of instruction, course packs, as well as the major costs of the spring break industry immersion trip and site visits during the academic year. Students are responsible for providing their own laptop computers and textbooks.

Important Dates

The MSLCE program follows the regular Northwestern calendar. Visit html for more details on quarter start dates, holidays, and end dates. MSLCE Orientation is a required event occuring the week prior to the start of classes. The industry immersion trip occurs during spring break. The MSLCE Convocation ceremony is held during the last two weeks of August. The exact date is set in the fall quarter.
