---- WELCOME ---It’s that time of year when the holidays are alive with the marvels of Northwest Arkansas. This issue is jam packed with exciting Top 10 lists reflecting the beautiful aspects of our Northwest corner of the state. The variety and number of events and things to do have literally almost doubled over last year. It’s hard to get your head around such rapid growth right here in NWA. No matter what your interests are, you’re likely to find a special event with a focus on things you enjoy doing. Building demolition is steadily ongoing on almost every street and neighborhood, and, unfortunately, some beloved landmarks are bulldozed and reduced to rubble one day, leveled the next and built upon the following day. All this rapid expansion is causing a whiplash of nostalgia for some longtime residents while others consider it a natural price to pay for growth. Can we continue to be the charming, small town place where you can ride your bike to run errands, raise your family in safety and peace and enjoy all the educational and cultural options available in the area? Or will we evolve into a vast metroplex like many other regions in the country? It is definitely something to think about, isn’t it?

Many people ask us how we develop our Top 10 lists. While we can’t divulge the exact formula, we can say that we use a proprietary algorithm based on online reader polls, thousands of reviews and the real time covert experiences of our own NWATravelGuide.com street team. You can think of our street team as people who act like secret shoppers. Our magazine continues to grow, and we want to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal readers, advertisers and supporters. Without you, we wouldn’t be enjoying this phenomenal success. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you! This magazine is for the people of Northwest Arkansas, and its welcome visitors. If any of you would like to see a category added to our Top 10 lists, please let us know. We are happy to consider all ideas. From the Northwest Arkansas Travel Guide family to yours, we hope you have a happy holiday season.

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS Approximately 4 million visitors per year make the trip to Northwest Arkansas, and there are no signs that traffic is slowing down. If you are asking why, you’ve probably never been to this booming area! There are tons of amazing restaurants, things to do and places to stay in Northwest Arkansas. The Northwest corner of Arkansas is home to a number of towns and smaller communities, which together are commonly referred to as Northwest Arkansas or NWA. Bentonville, Bella Vista, Eureka Springs, Fayetteville, Lowell, Rogers, Siloam Springs and Springdale are the cities covered in this recently researched and up-to-date Top 10 NWA Travel Guide. Long known for its natural beauty and clean Ozark Mountain air, Northwest Arkansas has morphed into a cultural and business center rivaling the best in the world. The recently completed 36-mile Razorback Greenway, a primarily offroad trail system, links together six NWA cities and many community destinations including Walmart, J.B. Hunt, and Tyson Foods corporate headquarters. Additionally, the trail system also links to Arts and entertainment districts, historic sites, parks, residential communities and shopping areas. NWA invites its visitors to enjoy: • Awe-inspiring Museums Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, a dazzling, world-class 1.2 billion dollar museum. • Breathtaking Natural and Manmade Wonders Beaver Lake, Ozark Mountains, Hiking & Biking Paradise • Championship Level Cycling Walking & Hiking trails Award-winning bicycle friendly communities, Fayetteville, Rogers, Bentonville
