Established in 1991, we have been involved in several high-profile cases and won numerous awards.
We have expertise in the following areas of law:
• Civil Disputes
• Commercial
• Crime
• Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority claims
• Employment
• Family
• Housing
• Human rights and inquests into deaths
• Special Educational Needs appeals against ‘refusal to assess’ decisions
• Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney
The legal advice and assistance we offer is provided to the public free of charge. There may be circumstances where a client’s case requires the payment of a third-party cost e.g. court fees. If these become necessary, we will discuss these with you in advance.
• Qualified and experienced lawyers supervise third year law students, studying at Northumbria University, as they work on real cases with real clients.
• We are an independent and confidential service.

I could not recommend the Student Law Office highly enough. The students I worked with were professional, proactive, kind and understanding, always making sure I have felt heard and validated – this isn’t always the case with legal support! Having worked with other firms in the past, I can honestly say that this is the most positive experience I have had while navigating the Family Law system. It’s an amazing service and I am so incredibly grateful.
