ON A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDATION

After a 2-year hiatus we could not wait to welcome some of our closest supporters to join us once again for an in-person gala. To say we missed the excitement and energy created when like-minded people come together to support our hospital would be an understatement!

Gala 2022 – A Black Tie Evening celebrated the remarkable spirit and strength of Northumberland County, while raising more than $220,000 – truly impressive! Planning and hosting an event such as this goes a long way in helping to ensure everyone in our community has access to the best medical equipment possible.

Thank you to everyone who had a hand in this achievement – and there were many – from the talented Gala Cabinet volunteers, to the generous guests, sponsors, auction donors, business and community partners, and set up volunteers – the list goes on. We’ve now hosted 20 in-person galas, and we never cease to be amazed by how so many come together to make these events possible. Our community has helped to make Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) the place it is today – we have come together to meet the changing needs and advances in technology time and time again.

CHAIR'S MESSAGE

It has been three long years since we gathered together on November 2nd 2019. I know none among us could have imagined that a few short months later our world and lives would be forever changed and history would record a pandemic the likes of which had not been seen in a hundred years.

I’ve always felt that Northumberland Hills Hospital was the beating heart at the centre of our community, regardless where we live in the County. Never was that more apparent

than over the last few years in an unprecedented period of great need. As the pandemic raged, we looked to our hospital as a beacon, for information, for care, for testing. Our doctors and nurses and all hospital staff were leaders in our community and worked those early days before vaccines, at considerable risk to themselves…yet the hospital never closed its doors!

The Gala is a chance to support the hospital which supports us 365 days a year and I am always so impressed by the generosity of our community and its dedication to our event. On behalf of the Gala Cabinet I thank all of you most sincerely.
