Describe Your Wedding Vision From the beginning, we envisioned a wedding that felt elegant, timeless, and simple. I’ve always believed that less is more, so we let the beauty of our venue and flowers speak for themselves. We chose an all-black dress code, allowing pastel blue, soft yellow, and lavender florals to bring the only touches of color to the day. I had always dreamed of a classic ballroom feel, which drew us to our venue and it's beautiful chandeliers. For our ceremony, we exchanged vows in front of the gazebo, creating a setting that felt both romantic and timeless. Because Matthew and I had been together for so many years, incorporating pieces of our story was especially meaningful. Our flower girl tossed petals I had saved from nearly every bouquet Matthew had given me throughout the years. We displayed crystal swans from our engagement and bridal shower, while our wooden gazebo card box, handcrafted by my grandfather, had previously been used at my parents’ wedding. Even our parents’ weddings found their way into ours. I chose lavender for my dad and blue for Matthew’s dad, unknowingly matching the colors from our parents’ weddings. Matthew’s pocket square was also made from a piece of my wedding dress. Every detail was chosen with intention—not to follow a trend, but to create a wedding that felt like us. Elegant, meaningful, and filled with pieces of our past, present, and future. Our wedding was more than beautiful, it was ours. Describe Your Wedding Day Our wedding day felt incredibly calm and seamless, thanks to the amazing vendors who brought everything together. They made the day feel effortless and allowed me to be fully present instead of worrying about the details. After months of planning, it was so special to finally sit back and enjoy the day we had envisioned. Matthew and I chose not to see each other before the ceremony, saving that moment for when I walked down the aisle. It was difficult because Matthew is my best friend and the person I wanted to see most. When I finally saw him waiting for me, everything felt real. After 10 years together, we were finally standing there surrounded by the people we love, about to become husband and wife. It was one of the most surreal moments of our lives. After the ceremony, we stepped into the reception before our guests and were blown away by how beautiful everything looked. The black-and-white tables, candles, flowers, and two-tiered heart-shaped cake were everything we had imagined. Our DJ kept the celebration going, while the biggest surprise was a custom shrimp cocktail ice sculpture—a fun and unexpected touch that made the reception even more memorable. One of my favorite moments was stepping away with our photographer for sunset portraits. Those quiet minutes gave us a chance to simply be together and take everything in. The entire day passed in a beautiful blur. It was everything we dreamed of and somehow even more special than we imagined. T H EWEDDINGMAG.COM

Advice to engaged couples: My best advice to engaged couples is to always remember that this is your day. Your wedding should reflect who you are as a couple and what the two of you want. You’ll hear plenty of opinions throughout the planning process, but you don’t have to change your vision to make someone else happy. Make the choices that feel right for the two of you. I also believe it’s important to make the choices that you know you won’t regret. Whether it’s deciding not to do something because of the cost or feeling like you have to do something because other couples are doing it, make sure your decisions are based on what feels right for the two of you. If there’s something you truly want for your wedding and you can make it work, do it. Money will come and go, but your wedding day only happens once. You’ll never get that exact day back, so make the choices that will allow you to look back on your wedding day with happiness rather than wondering what you should have done differently. Most importantly my biggest piece of advice is to always communicate. Communication truly is the key to a strong marriage. Be honest with each other, talk through the difficult things, and never forget that you’re on the same team. Your wedding day is just one beautiful day, but your marriage is the life you’re building together. Prioritize each other, keep communicating, and continue choosing one another every day.

Venue At Rock Run Events, that vision came to life with a palette of deep, rich tones layered against whites and creams, luxurious textiles, vintage metallics and an abundance of texture. The result was a sophisticated setting that was refined with warmth and character. Inside the barn, dramatic ivory draping cascaded from the ceiling behind the bridal table, creating a soft, romantic backdrop against the weathered wood and soaring beams. A sparkling crystal chandelier added a touch of grandeur, while Rock Run’s rustic character grounded the look.

The combination of aged metals, sumptuous textiles and romantic florals created the feeling of an elegant country estate. Matzke Florist brought the vision to life through an array of floral arrangements that felt organic. Locally sourced deep colored blooms were mixed with greenery and arranged throughout the tablescape, while larger floral moments spilled onto the floor around the bridal table. The flowers added just the right amount of drama against the ivory linens, creating beautiful contrast throughout the room.

Karleigh and Andrew chose a beautiful time of year to say I do, celebrating their wedding in mid-May at Aberdeen Manor. With spring in full bloom, the gardens were beginning to come alive with fresh greenery, while the lingering coolness of the season made for a comfortable and picturesque day. The celebration began at Clawdia's Beauty Salon, where the ladies gathered for hair and makeup before making their way to Aberdeen Manor. With a talented team of hair and makeup artists and a location just minutes from the venue, Claudia’s is a favorite stop on wedding days and a team I have had the pleasure of working alongside at many local venues. A little early-day rain gave way to cloudy skies and a refreshing breeze, creating the perfect conditions for an outdoor ceremony. The Aberdeen Manor garden was beautifully dressed with florals by Lori of La Petite Fleuriste, adding an elegant touch to the lush spring setting. Among the most memorable moments of the ceremony was the entrance of the flower girl and ring bearer. Their joyful smiles and playful energy were especially sweet against the backdrop of the men in their military uniforms. The ceremony itself was intimate and personal, and it concluded with a particularly memorable moment as Karleigh and Andrew made their way through an honor guard—a beautiful tradition and always a favorite to photograph. Then it was time to celebrate!

The reception was energetic from the start, with the dance floor quickly becoming the center of attention. Andrew even stepped behind the mixing desk a few times, adding his own touch to the music and keeping the energy high. It was easily one of the liveliest receptions I have photographed in quite some time. Congratulations to this wonderful couple, and thank you to Aberdeen Manor and all of the talented vendors who helped make Karleigh and Andrew’s wedding day so memorable.

Describe Your Wedding Vision When we first started planning our wedding, our biggest vision was to create something timeless, elegant, and natural, centered around greenery with pops of cream. We wanted everything to feel cohesive without being overly complicated, and somehow, all of the details came together even better than we imagined. From the beautiful green Victorian barn where we were married and celebrated with our family and friends, to the green suits paired with my cream dress, every part of the day reflected the vision we had from the beginning. We carried the greenery throughout the bouquets, floral arrangements, and décor, which helped tie everything together and created a warm, romantic atmosphere. Having our wedding in the fall made it even more special. The crisp weather and beautiful fall colors surrounding the venue added the perfect natural backdrop and made the greens and creams really stand out. It felt like everything—from the venue and décor to our outfits and the season itself—was meant to be together. Looking back, we couldn’t have imagined our wedding day coming together any more perfectly. It was exactly the vision we had hoped for, but even more beautiful because we got to experience it surrounded by the people we love most. Describe Your Wedding Day Our wedding day was truly everything we could have hoped for and more. From start to finish, the entire day felt effortless, joyful, and incredibly special. We were surrounded by our closest family and friends, and every detail came together beautifully. What stood out most was how smoothly everything flowed. There was never a moment where we felt overwhelmed or like we had to worry about what was happening next. We were able to simply enjoy the day, be present with each other, and celebrate with the people we love most. There were so many unforgettable moments throughout the day— from getting ready and seeing each other for the first time, to the ceremony, reception, speeches, dancing, and everything in between. Looking back, it genuinely feels like one of those days that went by far too quickly because we were having so much fun. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day. It was beautiful, emotional, fun, and filled with memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make it so special. T H EWEDDINGMAG.COM

Your Advice to Engaged Couples One of the biggest pieces of advice we have for engaged couples is to stay true to what you and your fiancé envision for your wedding day. It can be easy to get caught up in other people’s opinions, suggestions, or expectations, but at the end of the day, this is your wedding and a celebration of your relationship. There will be plenty of decisions to make, and not everyone will agree with every choice you make—and that’s okay. Talk through the decisions together, figure out what matters most to both of you, make the choice, and feel confident moving forward. Try not to let doubt creep in or constantly second-guess yourselves just because someone else would have done things differently. Most importantly, remember to enjoy the process. Wedding planning can become stressful when you focus too much on making everything perfect or keeping everyone else happy. Focus on what will make the two of you happy and what will create the kind of day you’ll look back on and remember fondly. At the end of it all, the most important part isn’t the details—it’s getting to celebrate the beginning of your marriage together. 50
