Transform Your Life With a New Set of Teeth Behind the Smiles: Dr. Jeffrey S. Mader’s Passion for Dental Implants For over 20 years, Dr. Jeffrey S. Mader has been dedicated to transforming lives through dental implants. Specializing in this area of dentistry has not only been a fulfilling journey for Dr. Mader, but it’s also become his greatest passion within the field. “It is the most gratifying aspect of dentistry,” he says, and his commitment to providing the best possible care shines through in every procedure. Dr. Mader’s extensive training includes a two-year comprehensive program at The Misch Institute, where he honed his skills in implant dentistry. As one of the leading implant specialists, he has also earned certification in multiple dental implant protocols, with a special focus on the Hybridge Protocol. “The Hybridge Protocol is superior in many ways,” Dr. Mader explains. “It’s a fully digital process from start to finish, which ensures quicker and more precise results.”

For many patients, the idea of dental implants can seem daunting, especially if they haven’t seen a dentist in years due to negative experiences. Dr. Mader’s compassionate, patient-centered approach makes all the difference. “We never judge or make someone feel bad about their teeth. We’re here to help,” he says, ensuring that each patient feels comfortable throughout the process. Dental implants are truly life-changing. They restore confidence, allow patients to enjoy the foods they love, and eliminate the pain and embarrassment caused by bad teeth or loose dentures. For those hesitant about cost, pain, or recovery time, Dr. Mader offers reassurance. “Over 20 years, dental implants cost about 30 cents per meal. That’s a tremendous value!” With a career focused entirely on dental implants, Dr. Mader takes pride in changing lives every day. “I am privileged to do what I love,” he says. Through his expertise and dedication, Dr. Mader continues to make a lasting impact on his patients’ lives—one smile at a time.

One of Dr. Mader’s greatest accomplishments is his role in training hundreds of dentists across the nation in the Hybridge Implant System. This advanced technique requires significant technical skill, and many of the dentists he trains find it to be the perfect solution to the frustrations they face with other approaches. “I love spreading the word about Hybridge,” Dr. Mader says. “It checks all the boxes—high precision, predictability, and it’s patient-friendly. Plus, patients never have to go without teeth.”

A typical dental implant procedure with Dr. Mader follows four easy steps: first, a smile analysis and design to create a natural and beautiful smile; second, the removal of existing teeth and placement of implants; next, a scan appointment to prepare for your final smile; and finally, we deliver your beautiful, new smile. ‘It’s that simple, and the results speak for themselves,” he adds.

It’s been calling to me, Yosemite Falls has. We were here a few years ago, hiked partway up to the top of the beautiful mountaintop falls – just enough to get a tantalizing view – and had to turn back. I’ve wanted to finish the job ever since. Now it’s July of 2013, and Yosemite Falls finally appears again through the window of our rented white Ford van. This winding up-and-down road has led us into the Yosemite Valley once more. We have some planning to do. I do not want to leave this place again without having conquered the “very strenuous” Upper Yosemite Valley trail. We drop Calvin off at an information station to do some investigating – the man is a whiz in maps – and the rest of us go get settled in our tent cabins.

The nine dwarves go marching up the Vernal Falls Trail. Eight of us are Amish from Indiana. Steven Rapp is a single German Baptist man from Washington who was kind enough to accompany us and do our driving. Many other people are on the trail with us. They comprise a cross-section of the peoples of the world. Here among all these strangers, some personalities emerge from our group. For instance, if we nine are walking single file and the leader seems to stumble, we come to the understanding that the other eight are also expected to stumble at the exact same point. It’s quite interesting to note the reactions of strangers who witness our simulated stumbling. Mike and I tend to leave the trail if we see something inviting off to the side somewhere. One such point is the bottom of Vernal Falls. A slight trail leads down toward the base and away from the well-beaten stone stairway we’ve been on. The two dumb – I mean bravest – ones in our group follow the little path. It winds around rocks and down toward the pool at the bottom of the falls. The wind and mist from the thundering impact of the water get stronger and wetter as we get closer. It buffets us. Finally it is hard both to see and to catch our breath and we turn back. We have gotten soaked but we did get

We continue up the rock stairway and finally reach the top of Vernal Falls and the large crystal-clear pool a bit upstream. Here we dry out for a bit and soak up some sun. Well, some of us dry out. Mary tosses water on me despite my dire warnings against it. This water is snow melt and shockingly cold. I deposit Mary into the pool. After hiking back down and eating supper, we clamber into the van and set out for Glacier Point. If we were a murder of crows instead of a flock of turkeys, it would take probably three minutes to get up to Glacier Point from our campground in Yosemite Valley. As it is, we have an hour’s drive out of the valley, around the mountain and up to Glacier Point. Then we walk from the parking lot on up the trail and out to the very point. Unverstandich. There we are rewarded with one of the more breathtaking views I’ve seen in all my travels. The point overlooks Yosemite Valley thousands of feet below. The lights of the valley sparkle up through the dusk. “A thing of beauty is a joy forever,” the poet said. There will be joy as long as the memory of this scene remains in our hearts. An amateur astronomer camped out on the point lets us take a peek through his telescope, which he has trained on Saturn. The rings are vivid. On the drive back down, we are serenaded by Steven’s story of a lonely bachelor and Calvin’s preaching. Then we return to our tent cabins and retire. Upper Yosemite Falls awaits.

Calvin comes back and we put together a game plan. We’ll save Upper Yosemite Falls for tomorrow morning. This afternoon, we’ll hike the “strenuous” 1.5 miles up to Vernal Falls, then drive up to Glacier Point tonight.

close enough to see the rainbow hanging in the mist. It was worth it.

EXCEL MANAGEMENT

MICHIANASHOWCASEMAGAZINE.COM

BRIGHT STAR RES PARTNERS WITH EXCEL MANAGEMENT When it comes to real estate investing, the right property is only part of the equation. The team behind it can be just as important. That’s why Bright Star Real Estate Services has partnered with Excel Management, a locally owned property management company led by two of our own agents, Allie and Matt Lehman. Together, we’re helping investors move from purchasing investment properties to successfully owning and managing them for years to come. What starts as a single purchase can become something much bigger with the right guidance and a plan for the future. But every investment also brings new responsibilities: finding quality tenants, managing guest communication for short-term rentals, collecting rent, coordinating maintenance, and protecting the value of the investment while balancing everyday life. That’s where this partnership makes a difference. Instead of navigating those responsibilities alone, investors have experienced professionals helping every step of the way—from identifying the right property to managing it long after the closing table. Whether you’re looking to purchase your very first rental property, diversify your investment portfolio, or transition into passive real estate ownership, our teams are ready to help at every stage of the journey. Our goal? To be your long-term partner. From your first investment to your hundredth door, we’re committed to helping you build lasting wealth through real estate—with trusted guidance every step of the way.

Slick N. Quick: The Fastest Man Reuben Shetler

Reuben Shetler lives in Holmes County, Ohio, with his wife and four children. He enjoys writing for children and is the author of several books. Slick N. Quick was fast. He was the fastest man in the neighborhood. He was the fastest man in the county. He was the fastest man on the continent. In fact, Slick N. Quick was the fastest man in the world! Slick’s wife, Mrs. Notso Quick, was always telling him to slow down. “There’s no hurry, Mr. Quick,” she said. “Slow down, and take time to enjoy life!” “Huh?” Slick answered, as he inserted an entire loaf of bread into his mouth and swallowed. “What was that, dear? Oh, but I’m sorry—I must go! I must mow the lawn, bale some hay, paint the barn, brand the cattle, make firewood, fix the roof, clean the cellar, break a horse or two, build a henhouse, plant the corn, fix the fence, and bathe the dog today!” Slick was a farmer, and could he work!
