4 STEPS. 1 SMILE. ZERO REGRETS.

At Michiana Dental Implants (MDI), we believe a beautiful smile shouldn’t be complicated. That’s why we’ve created a simple, four-step process to guide you confidently from consultation to completion. Whether you’re struggling with loose teeth, missing teeth, or uncomfortable dentures, our team is here to help you reclaim your confidence with Hybridge® dental implants.

Here’s how we make it happen—clearly, comfortably, and predictably:

Step 1: Initial Records

Designing Your Ideal Smile

Your journey begins with an in-depth consultation and digital records of your smile. Using cutting-edge Smile Design Software and advanced imaging, we’ll map out the ideal look and function of your new smile—together. These records are then sent to the renowned Hybridge Laboratory, where your custom temporary smile is digitally designed and prepared.

Step 2: Surgery Day

Leave with Teeth the Same Day

This is the big day! We’ll gently remove your remaining natural teeth and place your dental implants. Before you leave our office, you’ll receive your “Fixed Temporary Teeth”—custom-crafted to look great and function immediately. You walk out with a brand-new smile, right from day one.

Dental Implants changed everything. Now I feel normal again, able to speak confidently and enjoy meals like everyone else.

Step 3: Hybridge Scan Appointment

Preparing for Your Final Smile

About three weeks post-surgery, we’ll bring you back for your Hybridge Scan. This step ensures your final smile fits perfectly. We’ll reassess everything using our Smile Design Software and make any needed adjustments before your permanent teeth are fabricated.

Step 4: Completion

Your Beautiful, Final Smile

It’s here—the moment you’ve been waiting for. We’ll place your final, permanent Hybridge teeth with precision and care. The result? A strong, radiant smile that looks natural and feels amazing. You’ll receive personalized care instructions so your smile stays healthy and beautiful for years to come.

The entire process usually takes 3 months or less!

The final result was better than I expected. I don’t have to live with any dental pain.

I am just so grateful this has been done to me. Now, I can smile. I have all the confidence in the world.

Feigning ignorance Makes for an Amusing Fishing Trip

Plates clatter. Spoons and forks clink. And Mike’s eyes twinkle.

The wedding supper is over here in this sprucedup shop building north of Shipshewana. Raging appetites have been utterly satiated by the huge variety of food. The plates have been cleared, glasses refilled and the singing has begun.

Customarily at our weddings, the youth keep their seats after finishing their meal to serenade the bride and groom with a selection of wedding songs. Many times we simple folk just sing soprano, though some enjoy singing in four-part harmony and do this occasionally too.

A van load is here from another community of Amish in Vevay. They are seated across the table from Mike and are harmonizing nicely.

Now Mike. Mike Lambright. Michael Lambright is an exceptionally gifted lad. God gave him intelligence, athleticism, charisma and quick wit. One of his favorite amusements is to act ignorant and see if other people assume he really is. That ignorant, I mean.

Hence the twinkle in his eye. In the pause that follows the second song, Mike flashes a disarming smile at the out-of-towner across the table.

“Wow, Phillip, nice job. You have a really nice bass voice.” Mike pronounces the word bass just like the fish – with the short a.

Mike keeps his expression deadpan as he watches Philip’s eyes widen slightly The really amusing thing is being able to watch Philip choose a nice way to correct him.

“Thanks, Mike, uh, you mean bass?” Philip pronounces it correctly.

“Oh, is that how you say it?” Mike is the picture of I-stand-correctedness.

“Well, that’s how we usually say it, anyway,” Philip lets Mike down easily.

Mike does not bother to correct Philip’s impression, instead chuckling on his way home at the thought of the van load heading for Vevay.

“He said it how?”

“No!”

“Do these northern Indiana people really not know how to pronounce the four parts?”

The hook is set even deeper a while later. Mike is traveling with some of the scholars and parents from the school where he teaches. Mike’s co-teacher, the bookish, knowledgeable Merlin, sits beside him in the van cruising west on U.S. 20.

And to your left, ladies and gentlemen, is a landmark. The constant flame at the landfill on the south side of U.S. 20 comes into view.

“Hey everybody!” Mike exclaims. “That is the eternal flame burning as a memorial to President Kennedy.”

Mike watches Merlin out of the corner of his eye and almost loses his composure at the sight of Merlin’s face going through first shock, then pity, then compassion, as he seeks a way to correct Mike nicely.

“Uh Mike, I think Kennedy’s flame is close to Washington, D.C.”

Now Mike has to laugh. A lot. When he regains his breath, he agrees. “Oh yeah, that way it would be closer to where he is buried. That would make sense.”

Merlin smiles in chagrin and pulls the hook out of his mouth. This one will sting for a while.

A Trumpet Call

He jumped out of bed with a start. He could feel in his bones that it was late. Later than he had anticipated to rise from slumber.

Sure enough, as he dashed to his closet, the grandfather clock struck 7:15 a.m.

“No!” he cried. “Oh, why did I not rise the minute I shut off my alarm? This will be my last chance to see my father alive! Oh why…Such a simple choice, and I know it will cost me sacred moments at my father’s side…”

He dashed outside into the pouring rain. As he sprinted to the town square to catch the 7:22 train, his heart pounded and his mind raced. Maybe, just maybe, he would make it in time.

He rounded the corner and started down the last block. Ears tuned for the final whistle, he pressed on. He could now see it, ready and waiting. Waiting for him, it seemed.

His heart sank even deeper as he noticed that nobody else was boarding any more. As he ran to the yet-open doors, the last boarding call was announced and the whistle blew as the train prepared for its departure.

“Just in time. Come on,” called the conductor. “Get your ticket.”

Ticket! How could he have forgotten? One hasty decision just led to more faulty ones. He was so close! The conductor was extending just a tad bit of grace already. Would he extend a lot more?

Out of breath and weeping, he cried, “Please sir, I forgot…my…ticket…but please!…my father’s dying and…let me…”

“Sorry,” the conductor interrupted, “tickets required.”

And they were off.

The son crumpled to the ground in a heap of sobs. His whole body shook and his heart wrenched at all the selfish decisions that had piled up and finally led to this. He could have gone last week…could have stood up promptly…could have visited home regularly… the list carried on.

No more chance. The trumpet had sounded, and he had no ticket. No ticket to see his father in his dying days. More importantly, no ticket to go home.

He was left alone. All alone in a world of hurt and regrets. The weight was more than he could bear. There on the street, it smashed him, sent him reeling for something…something to hold on to—some kind of hope or light of another opportunity.

But there was none. No opportunity to re-do this chapter in his book. The page had flipped and it was said and done. His father’s book had closed, and the son’s page had turned, rudely revealing a different chapter to be faced with much remorse and regret.

He sat and pondered for hours on end. The only thing left to do was to start on the next chapter and listen, watch, and wait for the next trumpet. Will I be ready for that one? Will the next chapter continue like before or will there be a substantial difference?

The trumpet will sound when the time is at hand to meet our heavenly Father. Decisions made up to the very moment will determine our Conductor’s response. Do you have your ticket in hand, and are you prepared for that final sounding?

The trumpet will sound!

Decorative Concrete Curbing

When your home is on the market, it’s worth the effort to keep it ready for the right buyer. Other times, you’re not expecting it at all—a neighbor might stop by with interest, or someone passing by may take notice. Sometimes these opportunities come before a “For Sale” sign ever goes in the yard. In either case, keeping your property show-ready helps buyers picture their life there.

A well-kept home and a tidy pole barn or yard say a lot. You don’t need fancy decorations or polished furniture—just the steady work of keeping things neat and in good repair. Grass trimmed, walkways clear, the porch swept, fences standing straight. These small habits not only make your place more welcoming, but they show care that buyer’s notice.

How clean does my home really need to be?

The honest answer: clean enough that visitors can see the home, not the dirt. It doesn’t need to shine like new, but it should feel orderly. It’s fine to live your life and have a few things out, but the less clutter there is, the easier it is for someone else to picture themselves living there. That’s the goal. You want clear walkways, tidy surfaces, and rooms that feel cared for. People aren’t expecting perfection; they’re looking for a place that’s been looked after. Even small touches like sweeping the porch, wiping down the table, and letting in some fresh air can go a long way.

One of the hardest things is keeping your place ready over time, especially when you’re still living there. Homes are for living, and it’s not always possible to keep everything picture-perfect. Keeping a few daily habits for small things like keeping beds made or the dishes put away can go a long way. That way, if someone wants to come look with short notice, you won’t feel overwhelmed.

Do I need to update everything?

What matters most is fixing what stands out—things like a loose step, a broken latch, or a gate that won’t close. Small repairs, like tightening door handles or oiling a squeaky hinge, may seem minor, but they send a quiet message that the home has been cared for. When something is broken or out of place, it can make a buyer wonder what else might need attention. Even small flaws can plant doubt about how well the whole property has been maintained. On the other hand, when a home feels sturdy and in good working order, buyers feel more at ease. It tells them they’re stepping into a place that’s been looked after, not one that’s falling behind. These simple repairs help buyers focus on the good qualities of your home instead of getting distracted by the fix-it list.

When it comes to big projects—like redoing kitchens, replacing flooring, or rebuilding porches—it can be better to let the next owner decide. Many buyers have their own plans and may end up redoing those updates anyway. Sellers sometimes hold off for months trying to finish everything, only to find the buyer had their own plans for their next home. It’s better to focus on simple fixes that keep the home in livable, well-kept shape.

Keeping your home ready can make a difference. When your house, your barn, and your land are looking their best, you’re not only prepared for a planned sale—you’re also ready for the offers you didn’t see coming. You won’t have to scramble to clean up or rush to patch things last minute. Instead, you’ll be in a steady, comfortable position to say yes to the right opportunity, whether it comes tomorrow or years down the road. And if that unexpected offer does show up, you’ll be glad you kept the place ready to welcome it.
