Owner and Chef Davide of ‘Sale e Pepe’ was born in Catania, Sicily, Italy. Growing up in a family of restaurateurs, it was evident for Davide that he would continue the family tradition and one day have his own restaurant. Davide studied culinary arts in Italy and worked in many sea food specialty restaurants before he traveled to the Caribbean where he gained experience in adding a Caribbean touch to his dishes. Seventeen years ago, Davide settled on the beautiful island of St. Maarten where he met his wife, Scarlet. Sale & Pepe opened in December 2016 and rapidly grew into much more than just another Italian restaurant. In 2019 the restaurant relocated to its beautiful marina location in Simpson Bay where Davide and Scarlet will welcome you into their dining oasis. If you are looking for the best authentic Sicilian Italian food then Sale & Pepe is the place! Using fresh fish and a variety of other seafood, Davide is happy to work and mix directly imported Sicilian products with fresh Caribbean ingredients.
