Name: Julia Truong
I work at: Zurich Insurance and as a content creator @theblondeasian
My fave coffee spots include… LowKey, Bourke Street Bakery or Kingswood Coffee and I’ll order an iced latte or oat cappuccino.
When I grab brekky on the run, I’ll go to...Bourke Street Bakery and get their almond praline croissant or LowKey on Elizabeth Plaza for a slice of their warringal greens chimichurri focaccia, the fluffiest focaccia made using native Australian ingredients.
My fave spots for a quick lunch when I’m busy are...Kana Sushi at Greenwood Plaza where I’ll get karaage chicken and rice or a bento box which is tasty and affordable for under $20. Umma Kitchen at Greenwood Plaza is great too. I’ll get an Umma Box for $18 with a mix selection of delicious Korean dishes.
My fave place for afterwork drinks and socialising would be...The Firehouse Hotel for pub food and drinks indoors and the Greenwood Hotel for outdoor drinks.
Another favourite place for team get togethers is…
The Greens up in St Leonards Park. You can play a fun game of lawn bowls and there’s amazing cocktails too. The Watermelon Kegger, a mix of vodka, watermelon, lemon, lychee and bitters, is served in a large watermelon and is the best for sharing.
My fave spot to escape from my desk is...Greenwood Plaza. I’ll check out the stores and have a browse, particularly in Sheike, Decjuba and Nine West shoes. I love exploring...new cafés and dining spots, particularly on Denison Street, which has become an exciting new foodie hub. My weakness is pastries too, so at lunch time I’ll sometimes take a beautiful walk to Loulou in Milsons Point to treat myself to a French pastry. I love the citrus curd tart which comes topped with torched meringue.
