MISSING CORNERS BY
DANIEL TEMPLEMAN
This striking piece on the corner of the Pacific Highway, Blue and Walker Streets welcomes traffic to North Sydney and provides a focal point for pedestrians at this busy intersection. Templeman’s work draws inspiration from the Methodist Church that once stood on this site and the design works in parallax, meaning it changes depending on the angle you look at it from.

Name: Francesca Bartone-Prodromou
Where I work: I’m the co-owner of Charlie & Franks Cafés
on Walker Street, at ACU Campus and in St Leonards. My family and I have also lived in North Sydney for 11 years.
My fave coffee spot is...our very own café Charlie & Franks! I love a small almond latte, always in a takeaway cup without a lid, and I love our sausage egg muffin. Our North Sydney café is located on Walker Street in the CBD. It’s open seven days and I think it’s got a really great vibe. We have a fabulous bunch of humans on our team and have so much fun together.
My fave local takeaway is… Glorietta on Mount Street and I’ll order the spicy vodka rigatoni. It’s a great place to dine in too, the service is always so quick and the kids love their pastas and pizzas.
If we want to enjoy a cocktail we go to...RAFI on Mount Street. I’ll order a Positano Punch. Their cocktails are so refreshing and it’s such a lovely spot to pop in to and relax with a drink.
Our favourite local walk is… along the foreshore in Kirribilli, watching ferries zoom past with the Harbour Bridge and Opera House in the background. I could watch the harbour for hours. I just love our city!
Our fave local spots for kids includes…North Sydney Oval. The kids use their scooters and we get coffee from Venn or HUMM. We love the Sunset Cinema too, which is at The Oval every Summer.
A secret spot we love is… Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden in Lavender Bay is the perfect place to stop and take a breath.
The things about North Sydney we love the most are…the people, the close proximity to night life with restaurants and bars in walking distance, and the family-friendly vibe.
