Membership For All We believe everyone deserves a Y, so the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth offers financial assistance to individuals and families who might otherwise not be able to afford membership or program fees. Ask a staff member about financial assistance. It’s easy to apply and the Y does everything it can to make the Y a place for all.

Play time and interaction with parents is critical to the development of our youth. Our parent and child programs promote a variety of interaction through activities that build your child’s motor skills, social skills and expand their creativity and imagination through structured play.

Programs run from September 4-December 21. No programs during Thanksgiving week.

Toddler Sports Maniacs

(for children ages 12-35 months old) Get ready to Boogie! Finally a dance class where you get to dance with your child. Partner with your child in a variety of fun, exciting dances as you spend quality time dancing to the beat. Parents participation is required.

(for children ages 12-35 months old) Here is your chance to transition your child into their first sports coached class! Parents will join the action and join the kids in the class. Enjoy the best of both worlds: seeing your child develop their sporting skills well they gain independence in the gym.

PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAMS Nurturing the potential of every child and teen.

Our pre-school programs are designed to enrich and expose your child to a fun and safe environment. By YMCA Member Fees master for all sports offering age-appropriate activities, children develop academically, grow socially, skills, make friends and become comfortable in a class room setting. Our nurturing and dedicated staff members focus on building strong character and life-long skills.

Programs run from September 10-December 21. No programs during Thanksgiving week.

Yoga Story Time

(for children ages 3-5 years old)

An interactive story time introducing your child to yoga poses. The instructor will read and demonstrate entry level yoga positions for a relaxing and informative work out. Work your brain and your muscles.

Your child will be introduced to a book and then dive into a project to reinforce concepts from that book.

Each session will concentrate on one of four major areas of childhood education: science, math, language and art.

Tiny Tots Dance

Little Picassos

(for children ages 3-5 years old) Dance classes teach rhythm, creativity and fun for all. Classes include a variety of dance formats such as pre-ballet, jazz and hip-hop. Get your child’s heart pumping and body moving with Y dance classes!

(for children ages 3-5 years old) Discover art through hands on painting, stories and more. We’ll learn that books, games, songs, and holidays are all great inspirations for artwork. Some classes your child will take home a “refrigerator masterpiece”, other weeks it’s all about exploring the medium.

Mini Sports Maniacs

(for children ages 3-5 years old) Children will learn the fundamentals of sports such as soccer, baseball and basketball. All participants should expect an exciting hour outdoors kicking, swinging and shooting the ball.

Spanish Explorers (for children ages 3-5 years old) Give your child the gift of dial language. In this class, your child will learn introductory Spanish such as vocabulary, names, phrases and more through a variety of teaching methods. We use classroom style, games and activities to develop their understanding of the Spanish language.

Is your child kindergarten ready?

Kindergarten is a critical component for your child’s success. In fact, an article in Psychology Today shared that children who learned more in kindergarten were less likely to become single parents, went to college in higher numbers, and had higher incomes than their peers. While it provides a solid foundation for your child’s future, how do you ensure your child is kindergarten ready?

Preparation is key. The Y offers preschool programs designed to address the four main domains of childhood development: communication, problem-solving, motor skills, and socio emotional intelligence. Laying the foundation not only for your child’s journey into kindergarten but also as a lifelong learner is the ultimate goal of the program.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Nurturing the potential of every child and teen.

Our youth and teen programs provide a safe and fun place to learn and grow through a variety of activities such as arts, dance, indoor and outdoor activities, team building and self-esteem activities, and more. Our activities focus on developing a youth’s self worth while giving them the opportunity to explore different hobbies and activities. Youth will also build leadership skills and character development.

Programs run from September 10-December 21. No programs during Thanksgiving week.

Cheerleading

Adventure Guides

(for children ages 5-12 years old) Give your kids something to cheer about! Learn new cheers, cheerleading positions and dance routines.

You child will build self-confidence and self-esteem while developing social skills and a healthy lifestyle.

(for children ages 5-13 years old) This is an enriching parent child program designed to help foster a lifetime of understanding, relationship strengthening and compassion between parent and child. Every month, each parent-child pair will have the opportunity to take part in an event hosted by the Y.

Young Einsteins (for children ages 5-12 years old) Dive into the world of physics, nature and discovery in this science based program. Students will do experiments each week that will teach them about the world around us and how it works.

Youth Trail Runners (for children ages 5-12 years old) Designed for any youth that loves running, this program will help your child set new goals and prepare for running long distance.

Reach & Rise® 1:1 Mentoring Program (for children and teens ages 6-17 years old) Reach & Rise® is a national YMCA program designed to build a better future for youth by helping them reach their full potential through the support of caring adults. Reach & Rise® is a free, one-to-one youth mentoring program that was established to provide young people in our community with positive adult relationships. Each adult is matched with a young person who they meet with once a week.

Each match lasts a minimum of one year. Mentors serve as role models, friends, and confidants.

Mentors are not meant to take the role of a parent, babysitter, or financer. Mentors try to introduce their mentees to new activities to help them grow and learn about themselves and their community.

Kid Fit

Dance-Versity

(for children ages 6-12 years old) Keep your kids active throughout the school year.

This workout will focus on building flexibility, strength and coordination at a young age.

Spanish Explorers

Refunds, Transfers or Cancellations

(for children ages 6-10 years old) Give your child the gift of dual language. In this class, your child will learn introductory Spanish such as vocabulary, names, phrases and more through a variety of teaching methods. We use classroom style, games and activities to develop their understanding of Spanish language.

We are happy to accommodate changes and transfers as long as space is available and your requests are made before the session begins. Once the session begins all refunds, transfers and cancellations will be made effective the first of the following month. Supply and uniform fees are non-refundable after the program begins. Refunds are not given for missed classes. If the YMCA needs to cancel a class we will not provide a refund; however, the cancelled class will be rescheduled.

Drop off/Pick up Options for Pre-school and Youth Programs

Lego Builders

Option 1: Drop your child off to Childwatch or Youth Zone at least 15 minutes prior to class start time. A YMCA staff person will walk your child to the appropriate class and then walk them back to Childwatch/Youth Zone after class. Parents must let us know upon arrival if we will be taking them to their class (available to YMCA members only).

(for children ages 5-12 years old) Research shows that children who spend time building with Legos often have better math and science skills. Share the joy of creating new and exciting Lego masterpieces. Experience fun new games that go along with the building creations.

Homeschool PE & Art

Option 2: Drop your child off to the appropriate class and then pick them up when class is over. We can only drop off children to Childwatch/Youth Zone that we have picked up.

We are asking all parents to pick up their child(ren) on time in order to avoid late fees and/or possible removal from program.

(for children ages 5-12 years old) Students will rotate through a variety of physical activity and art mediums. Homeschool Programs at the Y are a great way to work physical activity, arts, and socialization into your home-school curriculum.

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS Developing confidence with each stroke.

Private lessons are held at the Northpark YMCA pool and are designed to meet individual needs. This individualized attention will help to improve stroke and speed efficiency. Lessons are available for adults and children at any skill level. Half hour lessons are scheduled at your convenience.

Developing skills on and off the field.

Y Youth Sports allows young people to develop skills and build healthy lifestyles through teamwork, fun and fair play. Our coaches help guide our children through learning the essentials of physical fitness, healthy development, and participation. There are no try-outs in our non-competitive sports program, ensuring that “Everyone Plays, Everyone Wins�. Y Youth Sports are coached by dedicated volunteers and we encourage you to volunteer with your child today!

Splash & Dash

(for children ages 6 wks-12 years old) Enjoy an evening out while your child has fun at the Y. Let our nurturing childcare staff keep your kids safe and active with crafts and games, dinner and a movie. Pre-registration is required as space is limited.

(for children ages 4-12 years old) The YMCA's Splash and Dash is a great way to introduce multi-sport racing to your child in a safe and fun environment. All fitness and swim abilities are encouraged to participate. Parents can assist younger age groups with swimming. Medals for first place winners in each age division and ribbons for all other athletes.

Grandparents Day-Cookie Decorating

Canned Food Drive

For the month of November we will be collecting canned foods in the lobby to take to the local food bank. Help us give back to families in need this holiday season.

FOOD MYTH There are no hungry kids in our community.

Hunger exists in every community. Yet, it’s easily hidden. Nationally, one in six kids are hungry, but in many communities this number is higher. Many of us wear blinders when it comes to hunger that’s close to home.

In fact, 78% of Americans agree hunger exists, but don’t think it impacts their community.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES Celebrate With Us

What better way to celebrate your child's birthday than with a party at the YMCA? We offer use of our rooms along with a YMCA party host to help coordinate your chosen activities. Party times are available Saturdays.

What your party includes: Enthusiastic party host committed to providing a fun entertaining atmosphere for your birthday celebration. We will engage your guests in an energetic activity of your choice and be there to assist you with treats and presents.

Getting started Reservations for birthday parties should be made at least two weeks in advance. A deposit is required to reserve your party and the entire balance is due one week before your party date.
