Boardman Park Summer Recreation Programs huge success By: Tessa McLaughlin, Recreation Coordinator Summer is over but we had a great one. Our summer programs had great turnouts. We trained 16 students to become Red Cross certified Baby-sitters. Had over 195 kids enrolled in group swim lessons. We started a Junior Swim Club, which will build lifelong swim-
mers for our community. Funtastic Kids and Teen Summer had over 400 kids combined signed up. In FUNtastic Kidz, we had fun playing games, making slime and ice cream, and playing on the water slide on water days. Teen Summer did a lot of new games, learned to kayak, canoe, and paddleboard as well as went on our annual
Silverwood trip. The Boardman Park and Recreation District would like to express a huge thank you to the Morrow County School District for sponsoring and for the great partnership this summer. Your generosity in helping fund programs for Morrow County school District children made a significant impact on many families.
Group swim lessons at the Rec Center Included Irrigon & Boardman kids. FUNtastic Kidz, for ages 5 - 12, broke the group into smaller pods for games and crafts.
The Teen Summer Program emphasized water safety on the Columbia River.
