Free concert series in Boardman & Irrigon continue in July The singing duo 98% Angels will perform for the FREE Music in the Parks outdoor summer concert series on July 3rd at the Irrigon Marina Park, located off Highway 730 in Irrigon. 98% Angels, otherwise known as Marie Rose and Renate Meakins, first met and began singing together in 1998 in the Blue Jazz Choir Ensemble while attending Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon.
On July 17th at the Irrigon Marina Park, Melissa Cunnington will perform. Melissa Cunnington is a professional singer and performer. She just finished her third album called “Autumn Leaves”... “it is a fantastic album with a mix of jazz standards and easy listening pop tunes” says Cunnington. She loves to sing a variety of musical genres. Currently she performs with 3-Way Street from the Tri-Cities.
Since then, the duo has performed in shows around the area such as the Irrigon Watermelon Festival, Umatilla Landing Days, the Hermiston Variety Show, and the Amboy Territorial Days. The ladies also volunteer their time singing in local assisted living homes. The style of music they perform ranges from 1930’s standards, Big Band Swing music, hits of the 50’s and the 60’s, and popular Contem-

Jamie Nasario & Luke Basile from the small town of Echo, Oregon, Jamie Nasario has caught the attention of many listeners, far and wide. Her soul driven voice and bluesy repertoire captures the classic vibe from the 50’s and 60’s while still maintaining a modern flavor. Although fairly new to singing, her raw talent and sultry voice sounds far from unrefined. Nasario is backed by Luke Basile on guitar. Basile compliments their unique sound and style very well. Together, this acoustic duo has a very captivating presence and showcases talent beyond their years.
Williams and Johnny Cash, as well as his own song “U-Co. Blues”. Dallin is self-taught on most of the instruments he plays, including the guitar, piano and harmonica. A Hermiston band, The Buttercreek Boys is scheduled to perform on July 31st at the Irrigon Marina Park. The Buttercreek Boys feature Lou Reeves, guitar; Wynn Weston, guitar; Curt Clauton, stand-up bass; Tom Watkins, violin-fiddle; Rusty Roe, saxophone; and Jim Simpson, banjo and harmonica. In addition, several of the musicians share in the vocals. They also invite the crowd to sing along, if the music moves them. The Buttercreek Boys can be seen performing regularly in the Hermiston community. Alternating between Boardman and Irrigon Marina Parks. The concerts are free to the public and begin at 7 p.m. on Monday nights.
Local favorite Dallin Puzey will perform July 24th at Boardman Marina Park. Dallin Puzey, who has a home recording studio in Hermiston, distributes his music via the internet and performs live throughout the area. He can also be seen in a promotional video produced by the Hermiston Chamber of The Buttercreek Boys Commerce. This singer/ songwriter describes his music as The 2017 concert series runs through August 14th. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Concessions will be available for purchase at the event, courtesy of Judy’s Chuck Wagon. The series is funded by the Morrow County Unified Recreation District and Portland General Electric and sponsored by the North Morrow Community Foundation.
