Burnt Field Brewing craft beer and legit pizza now open Boardman has another choice for dining -- with a view! Burnt Field Brewing has had a “soft” opening for their craft beer and legit pizza since January 17th. Owners Logan Mayfield and Michelle Seeley can be found at 1 East Marine Drive (across from the Captain Al James tugboat) from 11:37 am to at least 9:00 pm daily serving up craft brews and home-made pizzas. Many know Mayfield as the former brewmaster at Ordnance Brewery. His background in brewing began in Ashland, traveled to Denver, Colorado, and finally Boardman. He has had a vision of owning his own brewery for many years, and although Burnt Field’s two craft beers are today being

brewed in The Dalles to Mayfield’s specs, he plans to add on to their location to finally brew his beer on the premises. Michelle Seeley is wellknown around Boardman, having worked at Mid Columbia Title Company, Banner Bank and the City of Boardman. She has headed up the annual Easter Egg Hunt for the past several years, and plans to continue that tradition in the future. Together, Michelle and Logan came up with the name “Burnt Field Brewing”. Michelle’s maiden name was Brandt - which means burnt in German. It’s not too hard to pull the Field out of Mayfield, and a new name was born! They currently offer Boardman Blonde, which is a pale ale, and Mile Marker 40, which is an IPA, along with an assortment of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Their specialty is making their
own pizza dough, which they knead up daily. They have two sizes of pizza 14’ and 18 “ with your choice of toppings, the possibilities are endless. The dough also is used for their “Ugly Bread Sticks” served with butter and garlic or cinnamon and sugar...yum! Salads are a logical accompaniment with pizza, and those are also offered. There is a lot of history in the Burnt Field building. Some can remember when it was a train depot. Others remember when Rupert and Dorothy Kennedy lived there when “Rup” was Port of Morrow manager. The Port of Morrow officed there until the construction of their building along the river. Marchelle and Wayne Downey had a sandwich shop in the building, and finally Devin Oil Company used the building as an office. Logan and Michelle began major construction on the old building in August, and they have many stories about what has gone into it. Be sure to ask about the only traffic light in Boardman!
