MC District Attorney to Boardman to sponsor fall clean up speak at luncheon The City of Boardman will sponsor a community-wide clean-up the month of November. The City has garbage vouchers available, with a fifty dollar limit, to residents of the City of Boardman. The vouchers are valid during the month of November at Finley Butte Landfill and the North Morrow Transfer Station. The garbage voucher program encourages citizens to clean up their residences by disposing of yard debris. City residents may pick up their vouchers at Boardman City Hall at 200 City Center Circle beginning November 1st. For more information on this program, call Boardman City Hall at 481-9252.
The November chamber membership lunch will be Wednesday, November 21 with guest speaker Justin Nelson, Morrow County District Attorney. Justin will have an informative update for us on the District Attorney’s office. The lunch will be at the Port of Morrow starting at 12:00 noon. The catered lunch will be $10.00 per person and an RSVP is required. Call 541-481-3014 to reserve your spot. Morrow County District Attorney Justin Nelson will speak Nov. 21st.
Columbia River Harvesters plan to give Thanksgiving baskets The Columbia River Harvesters are looking for new members: those in the community who are elderly, handicapped or low income qualify to join. A member must qualify by filling out a form, paying $18 per month and donating three to five hours a month to the center. Members then are able to receive food baskets on a weekly basis, amount depending on family size. Three days a week: Monday, Friday and Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, the center is open.
Columbia River Harvesters is located in the Boardman Chamber building on Main Street.
Donations are needed for this year ’s Thanksgiving baskets. Monetary donations or staples such as beans, rice, flour and any nonperishable goods is welcomed. The Harvesters expect to give out over 60 Thanksgiving baskets this year to their members. Anyone who has surplus garden produce may donate to the center, which has a 501(c)3 nonprofit status.
