Free Boardman & Irrigon concert series continues in July The steel drum band Bram Bratá will perform for the Music in the Park outdoor summer concert series on July 11th at the Irrigon Marina Park, located off Highway 730 in Irrigon. Visitors will want to come early for the performance to see the wild bird demonstration by Blue Mountain Wildlife at 6:00 p.m. The name Bram Bratá is derived from two Trinidadian slang words meaning “an unexpected party.” Audiences find this a fitting name as they enjoy the challenging and varied repertoire of Caribbean,
soca, jazz, popular and ships and festivals in Europe, Asia, even classical music. the Middle East and across Bram Bratá steel drum America. Rhys juggles a wide array of props and quips, often with the help of Bram Bratá will perform on July 11th at Irrigon audience volunteers. It’s like a Pixar cartoon in Park, located off N. Brass Fire includes Jill Scanlan, a music teacher in the Pendleton School District, Paul Dunsmoor, the Hermiston High School band director, and Josh Rist, the Hermiston High School Choir director. Rounding out the band are local professionals. The Music in the Parks outdoor summer concert series is held each summer alternating between Boardman and Irrigon Marina Parks. The concerts are free to the public and begin at 7 p.m. on Monday nights. The 2016 concert series runs through to August 22nd. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Concessions will be available for purchase at the event, courtesy of Judy’s Chuck Wagon. The series is funded by the Morrow County Unified Recreation District and Portland General Electric and sponsored by the North Morrow Community Foundation.
