Fall Bass Tourney Results Released
Like leaves in November, winterizing your watercraft or putting away your outdoor furniture and more, the fall bass tournament is a regular part of our Lake Thunderhead lives. This year we had over 20 boats once again, and a surprise Big Fish winner, who has played a part in keeping our fishery healthy and robust for as long as anyone can remember. September 16th came with a dicey weather forecast, and mother nature didn’t disappoint us, offering us a mixed bag of rain, wind and even some sun. Fortunately the rain and wind seemed to come at just the right time to allow our intrepid anglers every opportunity to fill their live wells. Coming in first was Jeff Oswald (who traveled all the way from Florida) and Justin Kave. The pair netted 6 fish with a total weight of 19.44 pounds. That’s over 3 pounds per fish! Well done fellas. Next on the podium was Randy Parks and Kevin Upton. They also weighed 6 fish, with a total weight of 17.63 pounds. With 5 fish and a total weight of 16.77 pounds, Kendall and Don Lunsford took 3rd place. Josh Schaffer and Sam White held down 4th with a solid total weight of 15.27 pounds and 6 fish. Ben Daniels and Lawrence Allen teamed up for 5th, with 6 fish and a total weight of 14.39 pounds. A great job by these
five teams, but also overall, with two more boats
