YOUTH BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL

North Kansas City Parks & Recreation youth sports programs are NON-COMPETITIVE leagues. The programs emphasize skill development, learning the rules of the game, playing as a team, sportsmanship, and most importantly to have FUN! Children may register with one “buddy” for youth team sports. BOTH registration forms must be received along with the registration fee for each child at the same time. If you are new to the NKC Sports Program, you will be placed on a team by the NKC Parks & Recreation staff.

T-BALL (CO-ED)

Ages 4-6 by May 1 T-ball is the foundation of every future baseball/softball player’s career. Teams focus on understanding the basics of the game, having fun and making new friends. Our goal is for each child to learn the correct skills for batting, throwing and catching to encourage their passion for baseball/ softball. All practices and games are

held at Macken Park. Practice begins the first week of May.

Fee: $70

COACH PITCH

Ages 7-9 by May 1 Players will learn to hit the ball as it is being pitched from a coach and cooperate as a team to earn runs and outs. The primary goal is to prepare your child for the next level of play.

Practices are held at Macken Park and begin the first week of May. Games will be played at Macken Park and Happy Rock Softball Complex.

Co-Ed Baseball Fee: $80 Girls Softball Fee: $80

Registration: March 1 – April 2 (or until teams are filled) Fees include jersey, hat, and trophy.

KID PITCH

Ages 10-12 by May 1 Kid Pitch baseball is the final step in our recreation program toward preparing players for competitive play. Players are introduced to other players pitching and incorporate all their skills from batting, throwing and fielding. Your child will completely understand the essence of baseball/ softball after completing the season.

Practices are held at Macken Park and begin the first week of May. Games will be played at Macken Park and Happy Rock Softball Complex.

PRESCHOOL SPORTS

BITTY SOCCER (CO-ED)

Ages 4-6 (Must be 4 by April 1, 2022) | North Kansas City Parks & Recreation Staff This is a 5 week introductory session to the sport of soccer. Participants will begin to understand the fundamental motor skills of soccer through drills, games, and activities. The last week will be designated as a scrimmage game. Saturdays, April 2 – April 30 Registration: February 1 – March 1 Fee: $50 (includes T-shirt and medal) Session 1: 9:00 am Session 2: 10:00 am Session 3: 11:00 am

PRESCHOOL PLAYTIME!

Ages 4-6 | North Kansas City Parks & Recreation Staff Get your preschooler active mentally and physically with this 4 week program. We will play games, so your preschooler can get moving and have fun! Each week we will listen and dance to music that will develop gross motor skills, play games like noodle tag, navigate through obstacle courses, and more!

Saturdays, 11:00 am – 11:50 am Register one week before the session starts Fee: $30 per session Session 1: February 5 - 26 Session 2: March 5 - 26

BEGINNING CHEERLEADING

Ages 6-10 | North Kansas City Parks & Recreation Staff Students will learn cheer routines and be able to perform the routine for parents at the end of the 8 week session. Sessions will focus on learning cheers, basic form and technique. Students will receive a set of pom poms and a t-shirt.

Saturdays, February 5 - March 26, 12:15 pm – 1:15 pm Register by Friday, January 28 Fee: $80 (includes pom poms and t-shirt)

ADULT SPORTS RECREATIONAL “E” LEVEL MEN’S/CO-ED SPRING SOFTBALL

This is an E-LEVEL softball league. The main focuses of this league is friendly competition, building camaraderie, and having fun! Co-ed games are on Sunday evenings. Men’s games are on Thursday nights. All games are played at Macken Park. Teams are required to provide their own game balls. Each team will play 8 double-header regularseason games with an end of season tournament for a total of 10 games. Teams must pay a $50.00 non-refundable deposit to hold their spot. All fees must be paid in full by March 12, or the team will risk losing its spot.

Sundays, 6:00 pm Season begins March 27 Manager’s meeting: March 17, 6:00 pm

Men’s Division

Thursdays, 6:00 pm Season begins March 24 Manager’s meeting: March 17, 6:30 pm

“D” LEVEL MEN’S/CO-ED SPRING SOFTBALL

This is a D-LEVEL softball league. D-level teams are teams that are more competitive and hitting homeruns over the fence consistently with multiple players that can hit the ball over the fence! Co-ed games are on Sunday evenings. Men’s games are on Thursday nights. All games are played at Macken Park. Teams are required to provide their own game balls. Each team will play 8 double-header regular season games with an end of season tournament for a total of 10 games. Teams must pay a $50.00 non-refundable deposit to hold their spot.
