WAGGIN’ TRAIL DOG PARK

Dress your pooch in costume for a day out at Waggin’ Trail Dog Park! Participate in a costume contest, raffles, photo op, vendors, and more. Each dog will receive a trick-or-treat bag with a donation. Large Dog Costume Contest will be at 1:30 pm and Small Dog Costume Contest will be at 1:45 pm. NO CHILDREN under age of 5 allowed inside the designated dog area. All dogs must be accompanied by owner while inside dog park.

Saturday, October 8, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm, $5 donation per pooch that will go to the NKC Animal Shelter

TRUNK-OR-TREAT IN THE PARK

MACKEN PARK

Join us for eats and sweets at our first annual NKC Neighborhood Trunk-or-Treat in the Macken Park parking lot. Families will have a spooktacular time knowing they are in a safe space where their kids can trick or treat, play, and have fun. Costumes are encouraged. The first 300 kids will also receive a bag for treats.

Friday, October 28, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Free and Open to the Public

Do you want to participate in our trunk-or-treat? Decorate your trunk and hand out candy? Businesses, organizations, neighbors, and school clubs are welcome to participate. All candy will be provided. Contact Coti Meier at dmeier@nkc.org to sign up.

MAYOR’S TREE LIGHTING

Help us kick off the holiday season as the Mayor lights the tree. Enjoy festive entertainment, classic holiday refreshments, and special visit from Santa’s reindeer!

This small and thoughtfully curated artisan holiday market will be filled with local fine art and maker goods for sale. The perfect destination to pick up one-of-a-kind gifts for your loved ones. In addition to the market, you will find children’s activities, Food Trucks, a bake sale from our North NEW THIS YEAR! Kansas City Seniors, live performances, and Santa visiting from the North Pole.

FEEL THE WARMTH

MACKEN, DAGG, & WAGGIN’ TRAIL PARK

Annually, North Kansas City Parks and Recreation collects donations for hats, gloves, and scarves. Then the week of November 21, donations are placed on the fence line of each of our local parks. Anyone who needs a little extra warmth for the winter season will be welcome to take what they need.

Monday - Wednesday, Novmeber 21 – 23

Now accepting hats, gloves, and scarves, either handmade or store bought (with tags). Please turn your donations in at the NKC Parks & Recreation Center by Friday, November 11.

WINTER WONDERLAND

NKC PARKS & RECREATION CENTER

Celebrate the winter season with us! Kids ages 12 and under will enjoy crafts, games, cookie decorating, a hot chocolate bar, and more! We’ll even have a reading corner for kids to listen to Santa read stories. Fun for the whole family!
